By default, numpad 2 and 8 are bound to perform the gamepad's D-pad up/down function, which moves up and down the party list. You might find it easier to bind those to some easy-to-reach keys.

I found that moving up to click on party members to target them to be very time consuming. Almost caused me to wipe a group in Brayflox. And if I had to re-arange my UI, it would mean re-learning where everything is from the ground up, which is time consuming.

As for tabbing to targeting, I tend to tab quickly so I have never had issues with it. I will agree though that it's not very intuitive but it works the way it was designed to work perfectly.

When I get home, ill probably change the tab hotkey bind to toogle targeting between party members and back to enemy's when im not playing healer.

Need to work on getting my UI setup picture when I get home.

Right. Numpad 2 and 8. They do what a controller's up/down buttons do. Which is to move up/down the party list. So you press numpad 2, and your subtarget cycles up the party list. You press numpad 8, and your subtarget cycles down the party list. (Edit: and if you like the way that works, but don't like those keys, you can bind them to something else. They're in the gamepad tab of the keybinding menu.)

Oh sorry. I misinterpreted you're post, lol.

Will need to look into seeing if that works when I am home.

Okay, so I tried that but it didnt do any tabbing to the party members. I may just swap what the tab key does so I can just tab to party members then switch it back when I main tank or DPS.

Eos, when used under obey, can be a very powerful healer in their own right. Low level dungeons, whipering dawn is stupidly overpowered. However, if left on sick, eos has a tendency to use this a soon as one person in the party has so much as a paper cut (her ai cooldown management is pretty dire). End game, when healing with a white mage, her fey illumination (increase party healing potency by 20%), is of great benefit when used at the right time, helping healing all that raid wide damage more efficiently and boosting your galvanize shields. Selene can pretty much be left in sic, she uses one haste cooldown once the first has finished, and keeps the cycle going.

Also, learning when to use one fairy over the other is something that you will pick up over time. Both are very useful and valid, please dont listen when people say "good scholars only use xxx fairy". The best scholars know when to use each appropriatly.

Selene isn't awful on Sic like Eos is, but it's worth learning to micromanage her, too.

As for which fairy to use and when, I agree that there is no single best option for all scenarios, but Eos unfortunately becomes increasingly redundant as progression marches on. Her nice healing buff, AoE heal, and mdef boost are sadly wasted when no one needs that much extra healing power.

Eos is much more fun to use than Selene, IMO, and Selene's buffs make little difference outside of raid content except for BLMs, but I see very little reason to use the former except when you are level-synced down or are paired with another SCH using Selene.

I personally have my hotbar set-up like this, I have all my healing spells on the right including Eos' spell and on the left I have my battle spells including Place, Heel, Sic and Obey. This works for my mouse so I don't know if you have a mouse like mine, but it's just an example.

I wanted to echo this statement. I put Eos' skills next to the corresponding SCH skills on my hotbars. Whispering dawn and Fey Illumination next to Succor and Sacred Soil, Embrace near Physik, etc. I use them all as separate skills and have the added bonus of a few ignoring the GCD.

FWIW: I do play on a controller, and micro managing can't possibly be more difficult than with KBM. I think of my hotbars as 4 groups of four skills, and clump them all - heals, aoe's, dots, buffs, etc. These span the course of three hotbars which can quickly be selected depending on content.
