    Bards can shoot through some pillars, and maybe some walls. I know my spells were interrupted a few times after going around a wall in the manors. Maybe it was latency, I'm not sure. Our instant cast abilities aren't so instant cast. We can be stunned out of a swiftcast->spell sequence. Equanimity/surecast doesn't work again stun or knock back. If you've play Frontlines for any amount of time, you are surely annoyed by PLDs chain stunning followed by that attack which displaces everyone. That is the most annoying thing right after bards. SMN does have nuke capability, but we have to get off three spells first. Also SMN does have Physick, but not resurrection. Really, I'm not asking for more damage capability. Just improvements to the responsiveness of Ifrit-Egi and maybe something to help with kiting.

    Pet behaviour could use some improvements, but aside from that, I'm pretty happy with SMN in PvP.

    Spur and Rouse + Garuda Enkindle blows them up as well.

    Worst cast scenario is they use Purification, but then you just use Surecast > Tridisaster, heal up and start it over again
    You sound scary. Remind me to never fight you in PvP. :O

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
    Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

    SMN is very powerful in frontline to be honest.. SMN has more instant skills which are very good in 1vs1.. BLM has a bit of difficulty in 1vs1 especially when fighting a melee.. in 3 sec cd, SMN can do 3 attacks ( ruin 2 + energy drain + pet attack)

    SMN seems weak for most people, and they r not bcome the main target... which is actually very good.. SMN for me is a silent killer in frontline, people underestimate it.. at first i dont like to play SMN in frontline bcoz i think it's very weak, but after I know how to play it in frontline SMN has bcome one of my favorite job in PvP.. playing SMN in PvP is not the same in PvE.. u just need to learn how play it..

    if u get interrupted, just use your instant skills

    This. I find SMN's most deadliest when encountered in 1on1 in openfield where you cant LoS them, if anyone needs help its dragoons imo. For some reason they will always lose when i play as PLD even if they get opening, Shield Swipe is just killer for them i guess combined with stun when they pop BfB.

    But pvp should never be balanced around 1on1 so i think things are pretty decent atm, maybe some little tweaks here and there for some classes.

    It does, actually. It can interrupt enemy casts just like stun can. But only if they can be bound.

    The exception to the 'only if they can be bound' are the Sahagin adds in the Leviathan trial fights. They still get knocked back and interrupted, which can be useful as a emergency resort if the Sahagin casts Dreadstorm.

    Otherwise, yes, it interrupts casts. Try it on Suparna/Chirada in Garuda trial fights when they're casting Slipstream. The piestes in Northern Thanalan also get interrupted.

    One mob you should NOT Fluid Aura is the red Dalamud Spawn in T9. I learnt the hard way that Fluid Aura-ing it away while it is casting its big AoE spell does NOT interrupt it. My party was not pleased.

    SMN can cross the only ability BLM has to reduce interruption, Swiftcast. Scathe is instant cast and Lethargy indirectly helps. Other than that, BLM is stuck with full GCD or longer spells (except 4/5 GCD Blizzard II)

    Surecast in PvP is just as useful as Provoke; it does nothing.

    I have met some SMNs with formidable presence on the field. Truly, no one can survive if they are the sole target of two parties. I know because I have been there done that, but on scholar... haha Stun lock makes me a sad panda.
