Is there a risk of ban if you happen to have gil transaction with RMT?

I wonder how thorough the Special Task Force investigate RMT and cheating. There are rumours and gossips about innocent and legit players getting banned along with the RMTs, or so they claimed to be innocent and legit.

I'm asking because some stranger just bought my extremely overpriced materia and I want to contact the person to ask if it was a mistake or intentional.

However, considering all the myths I've heard about people getting wrongfully banned, it scares me to imagine if that person is a RMT or a cheater, and if in the future they get banned and if my transaction (if I return some of their money) shows up in the whatever history that the investigation team find, and if I get banned because I've traded with the banned person before.

I'm probably overthinking but I'd like to hear people's thoughts on this. A dev's answer or a GM's answer will also be greatly appreciated.

You're by no means in danger of getting banned for selling something iverpriced.
Granted that if you didn't sell your materia for 1000000000 gils ofc.

SE RMT task force targets first the gigantic Gil transactions, if you sold a materia for one million you'll not get banned at all.

What the special task force needs to do is look at these free company's who buy mansions for 50-80 mil with in a short period of time.

I can understand if the free company has a lot of members but then again you have these ones who barely have crafts up and barely half members.

it took me 2-3 months of saving gil got me 2million and rank 6 and got around 500k from 2 other members for the permit I haven't a lot of members because a few quit I had to boot them cause they said they aren't coming back but when I hit rank 8 I may end up start to recruit again.

I just don't see someone farming non stop around the clock selling items for a good price and getting 50-80 million gil unless everyone went out farming like crazy and gave the gil to one person for the house.

Then again I see tons of people complaining on forums about how high the prices are makes me think some of these people decided to buy gil

As far as we know, or at least i, they sell in quantities of 1m or more (based on the in-game spam), if the materia was really overpriced, lets say the cheaper one is at 90k and OP's was at 1m, it is indeed suspicious, and i know the system have been used before in FFXI to avoid bans, and ppl have been banned anyway, but they must find any kind of proof against the buyer, SE doesn't ban ppl blindly, that's why most bots are still here -.-.

@OP: if you haven't bought gil, you should be safe, RMTs don't buy things, so the unfortunate player who bought that materia must be legit.

Guess depending on which server market board is the best and your crafts as I said some people don't have crafts and let me know if you can make 1 mil in a hour without it.

Anyone can make 1m in less than an hour. It's called buying gil.
