Has it been confirmed that Yugiri is the questgiver in the Ninja storyline?

If so, that's fine by me. I really liked Summoner's story for the fact that it felt much more relevant to the Main Scenario, and had a feeling of being more on its own side than Limsa Lominsa's.

I was planning on RPing my Ninja character to be kind of like Shadow or Amarant anyway.

Nevermind, I'm gonna assume you never played WoW.
    Or Tera.
    Or Path of Exile.
    Or Diablo.

How did you even find this game?
Needing a specific class or classes at a certain level and needing to have done near or over 100 quests at level 50 are not the same. Not hardly. I have no problem needing specific classes at level 30/15, it's an understandable barrier and how XIV has been handling Jobs since 1.#. So far the only quests involved are the quests to unlock the classes and Jobs in question. Looks like it's going to stay that way for rogue and Ninja, much to the egotists' chagrin. How did you even read my post any differently?

Append: No, I never played Tera (art style bugged me to no end), Path of Exile (truthfully never heard of it till now) nor Diablo (I hate pvp). I played WoW for all of a trial (it was dull and boring). I played XI for years, though, and PSO before that. But, despite owning a pair of nostalgia goggles, I'd rather not wish that on this game no matter how cool an idea it would be. I want XIV to be able to stand on it's own legs instead of having to hobble along on another game's 'crutches'. Is that so much to ask?

For Arcanist, you have one super short quest to learn Yellow Carby, then another "real" quest to use carby in battle. Might be a similiar deal.

They made big changes from 1.0 to 2.0

Pretty sure they'll revamp the combat and skill systems.

    For me, that's huge.

And as for the Ninja Trainer: we need to think that Yugiri's position now is to establish herself, and she's the 'leader' of the pact: busy.

I wouldn't be surprise if that Ninja will be corrupted in some way and wants to take over blablabla..

That was pretty much the point going from 1.0 to 2.0. The numbering of 3.0 is just the connotation for the expansion. The transition from 1.0 to 2.0 was the rebuilding of most of the systems of the game as opposed to the addition of new content.

Yes, and we all know how complex and in-depth the systems in this game are. They are just too confusing.

Frankly, this team has NO IDEA what confusing actually is. Confusing is coming from two decades of Firaga into Fire III. Confusing is leveling up a class and it not always being immediately apparent that you are supposed to switch to a job at 30 because classes are basically useless. Confusing is leveling up your favorite class from so many games whose time has long since passed, only to find it's watered down and the reason is because SE believes the playerbase is simply too stupid to have nice things.

Big changes like Rogue being its own, individual job from 1-50 and Ninja being its own, individual job from 1-50? I just can't fathom how that would confuse people. It would correct a problem that really needs to be addressed: classes basically may as well not even exist.

yes, and maybe they should have *fixed it* to begin with, instead of revamping the way it works...again...but they didn't.
well i seen other games revamp the skill system, so i'm sure SE can do it....again...
but if you're expecting them to scrap classes, and rework all jobs...then i think you'll be disappointed.
at most i think they would rebalance the starter jobs, to open up the possibility of adding branching jobs; cause at the moment you can't really make anything from GLD, than another tank, which would be pointless.
Like Omega said: 1.0->2.0 was remake of the game, from scratch. That's not how it's going to be with 3.0. it's just an expansion, with new main story; just a big content patch. So yah, don't expect them to change the combat/skills system.

most of the playerbase is that stupid
a while ago i was running amdapoor city, with a SMN who only casted Miasma II, ruin, and energy drain...it was super not-effective.
yesterday i had a BRD in tam tara HM...i was sch and did more dps, and i was mostly healing...he even had a macro for *afk, following person*
and also yesterday, i did Stone Vigil HM, as DRG...and well, tanked the first boss, cause...i don't know what the war was doing...i don't think he really tanked anything in the entire instance.
But what i think Yoshi meant, was that if they changed the combat/skill system, ppl would have to re-learn how to play.

Your sum up seems valid, except you forgot one thing, low level dungeons will become solo-able with 2.4 so there won't be queues issues (but people will still have no clue how to play the job that's for sure xD)
