You're the one who came in here finger pointing when everyone knows that FF is used as an abbreviation for final fantasy. And if you didn't know then you should of said that and not assumed otherwise. I'm not the only one pointing out your fault which you don't wanna admit. YOU made a mistake and that's okay. It's your continuing to moan about it a page back that is annoying when all people should be doing is showing themselves spending time with their friend/loved one. You seem like the type who can't see gray and everything has to be spelt out for you hardcore. Whatever someone else will take up my torch if you continue I'm sure.

So if I typed FF.net everyone here would automatically assume I meant FinalFantasy.net? yeah no, that isn't even a real website to the best of my knowledge. No, FF.net is a direct abbreviation for Fanfiction.net and as such FF is a direct and widely acknowledged abbreviation for Fanfiction. While my assumption that FF is also an abbreviation for Female/Female is partially accurate, someone else pointed out that the correct way to abbreviate that is F/F not FF, so I will concede that point to them.

While I admit I was in the wrong about my assumption; why are you pissing on me? The post you quoted and responded to was a direct response to someone else who commented on the post I made in order to make a tongue-in-cheek response to someone else who was commenting on the fact that FF is automatically assumed to mean Final Fantasy here and absolutely nothing else.

Also, I want to point out that the thread title says "Show your FF couples" and nothing else. If it is assumed to reference Final Fantasy like you all are doing, then my post showing couples from previous Final Fantasy games, is a valid post as per the title of the thread, even if some of those couples were extra-canonical in those games. Especially since as I am not part of a couple in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, my only couples in any Final Fantasy game, are those to be found in previous Final Fantasy Games.

Fanfiction is the only place where I've seen things like "FF" for female/female when people were being too lazy to write it "F/F". Even if the OP had posted two female characters together, I would have read it as Final Fantasy and still shared my picture. I also googled FF acronym out of curiosity and found a list of nearly 200... Female/Female was NOT there, but Final Fantasy was the number one hit. If that's how you and fanfiction people think when they see FF, that's fine. But getting bent out of shape and arguing here rather than just admitting you made a mistake is just... I don't know. I don't understand why it's such a big deal to you.

I have largely moved on from the whole Female/Female thing at this point and don't really care anymore. That said I am still laughing over the fact that people think Final Fantasy is the number 1 use of the FF acronym, when Fanfiction is a much more widely used form of the acronym by now. I mean ff.net is even the acronym for one of the most well known depositories of Fanfiction in the world.

Also, according to Wikipedia Fula Language is the first thing they list with FF as an Acronym, not Final Fantasy. In fact Final Fantasy isn't even listed second, no that goes to femtofarad. Rather Final Fantasy is the third thing they list, right before Firefox.

I wasn't looking on wikipedia. Just some generic acronym site. But I still don't know where you get off believing that even a 'large majority of the world' peruses fanfiction.net. Maybe there are more FF.net users than worldwide Final Fantasy enthusiasts. I don't know, but what people were saying is that generally on a *final fantasy forum* people will read FF as Final Fantasy. That's the first thing I thought, but when you said the OP intended it as Female/Female, I had to do a double-take on her post in case I had posted in error. I was fully prepared to admit that I didn't realize it and delete my picture.

As for how "Show your FF couple!" could be read as any FF couple in the series, I believe it was made obvious that she meant FFXIV couple when she posted an FFXIV picture. Granted, she didn't state that you couldn't post other FF couples, so I don't think anyone really minded when you posted a bunch of fan drawings from the Final Fantasy series. Even if you were trying to make some snarky statement with it.

I don't think anyone really minded when you posted a bunch of fan drawings from the Final Fantasy series.

Two of them were cutscenes from the games Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy VIII. One was promotional picture for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. And yes, the fourth was a fan drawing.

Pretty sure it's the number one use of the acronym on a FF14 forum.
