Wait for your stealth skill, they informed us we were going to get stealth skills on DoL to help with this kinda stuff.

ya stealth skills would be nice, though it would be more logical to add said monsters that get in our way with the stealth, rather then add monsters that'll hinder our ability to rank up. If anything I would say they could make a simple quick-fix where you lose all aggro once you gather a node.

If I'm correct as it stand now once a mob aggros you can't change class so a melee wouldn't be able to run off and gather a spot if they have a mob on them. I doubt it would be to tough to implement they could just have a "shed all hate" placeholder set in til they add teh stealth function if they wish to keep the mob in said areas.

Though overall I guess the main issue in some cases in grida is such a tight quarters area which has been an issue for gatherers since day 1. Hopefully patch 1.19 can come out fast enough to remedy this situation or maybe if enough people request it they'll consider at least adding this tweak to DoL cause having to wait a month would be a tad harsh.

any words from devs about giving us invisible and sneak again like ffxi? having to use these to botany for blood logs was very fun. maybe they plan on bringing back some ways to get threw them, but at moment i'd agree the zones are just packed and impossible to deal with.

Yeah, they shoulda waited til the stealth skills were in before they did stuff like this. It's nigh unplayable for the time being, that's good for no one.

And that's the problem, its just ANOTHER case of the carriage coming before the horse.

Just run around on foot for 12 months with 0 anima, you'll get chocobos and airships next year.

Just deal with low static SP for 6 months, you'll get SP boosts in 6 months.

Just deal with 3x MP costs of cure, you'll get passive spellcasting and MP regen abilities in 3 months.

Just deal with aggro EVERYWHERE you want to gather, you'll get stealth in 3 months.

Just deal with horrible UI, slow macro swapping speed, and clunky action bar for 16 months, you'll get revamped version ???

As someone said, these kinds of changes need to be held off until they implement a solution. You don't give someone poison to drink and promise them the cure 3 months later. Every time SE does something like this, people quit and don't come back.

Now we get to deal with unavoidable packs of Ixali in Treespeak, making leves in that area worthless.

Why is this only getting worse and not being fixed? Miners and possibly others might as well only have 4 leves currently.

EDIT: Good news! They added 40-42 Raptors to part of Iron Lake as well.
    Go to Dragonhead.

Thats where I mine and its all fine.

The MP cost balancing has been coming ever since MP started to regen in passive mode. People somehow thought they could get that boost without making any sacrifice, and they were mistaken.

The lack of transportation is a bummer, but that ship has sailed and is going to be in port come the next patch. I suppose you make the observation to illustrate a point, but that point can't be "The cart came before the horse" because Yoshi P had no control then. You could, instead, make the point that the game was released unfinished. In that case, though, even Square Enix seems to agree since they're still not charging a fee.

Consider that releasing the patch in its current state allows Yoshida to collect feedback now where it is easier to make changes. It is not what I would call an ideal solution, either, but I did want to see this patch come out sooner rather than later so I could see what kinds of changes were in store. Now that I can see them, I have my forum granted opportunity to be a part of the development process by providing feedback about how the patch has affected me.

It's not all "ponies and rainbows" but nor is it a poisoned beverage. Real life often turns out to be less than ideal, but the whole final fantasy 14 team is trying very hard to keep it as close as they can despite being only human. Ideally, we would do the same for them when speaking of their works.

The important thing is that we gatherers are raising the issue in an organized way, in a single post. Hopefully this post actually becomes seen enough to warrant a glance from the community reps (help us Bayohne, you're our only hope.) and we can be given an idea of what the devs intend on doing, if anything. As it stands we can keep ninja'ing past the aggro mobs, or just not bother gathering at those points, but for that to be a permanent solution is a little disheartening.

Gatherers are, by nature, solo players. We can't really be expected to form up a combat group just to deal with pests so that we can do our jobs. Unless that's what they intend, in which case, I'm not so sure I like it.

I don't see the point of boosting classes made to keep the economy alive before the AH is in the game.

Currently all the crafts are useless because the buying/selling rate of items is so low. Just now I couldn't find one single gear for my MAR class in Ul'dah MW.

I hope they fix crafting to be more fun but right now AH should be a priority.
