Your attack against people who played XI made no sense when this game has much more borrowed from it as is
And yet because of one game we're getting the Golden Saucer and Triple Triad, even though tecnically, by the logic people keep putting forth, we should get Tetra Master which was present in 2 games (FFIX and FFXI's Launcher.)
That's how we got PvP.
I'm not asking he be an Elder Primal.
Looking closely, he was one of very few in FF6 who recurred as a Summon in later titles.
He was one of few Summons period in FF9, especially notable since much of the slim roster here was taken up by the most iconic in the series.
Elder Primal in FFXI.
Not that he's the most outstanding or worthy of all past Summons, but I think they could do better than 4-man boss.
Even Chimera & Hydra got their own 8-man Trials.
I didn't even play FFXI, I just love Fenrir & think it's his time.
Square enix re-use assets all the time. The FFXIII trilogy mostly revolved around it.
Also the Golden Saucer and Triple Triad are references to previous games, there probably not going to be exactly the same. Hell, Costa Del Sol is in the game already and it's not the same as FFVII's one other than being a beach town.

The only time I've known of Diablos was FFVII. I liked that fight, despite disliking the whole game. It is kind of odd that Carbuncle is just some kind of playdoh monster that tags along newbie Arcanists. Odin just because a tank and spank fate is doesn't do him enough justice either but whatever. But the point is Fenrir was only cool in a single game. Maybe I'm just attacking semantics here with the post he made but that's the entire basis of his argument. One made on a faulty foundation is a weak argument, don't you think?
I personally would have perfect Bahamut as a limit break Summon (L3). But I guess I can cope with him being a main force of destruction for the world.
Half of the Espers in VI came back later on.
I think because it was in VI is why it came back in IX. Looking at it closely, Madeen was one that was in both games. The only other oddball summon was Ark.He was one of few Summons period in FF9, especially notable since much of the slim roster here was taken up by the most iconic in the series.
Why didn't you just say that though? "One of my favourite summons is downsized to 4 man dungeon boss? I don't like this."Elder Primal in FFXI.

@Tupsi : We're getting a place for mini games and another mini game that was already said to be different than the original version of it by the devs . Gold Saucer is just a name that people will know. That's why they chose it. We're getting it for less hardcore content, not because everyone loves Gold Saucer in VII. It's a name love it or hate it that an FF fan will most likely know, which makes it the same as Fenrir, just another reference. There's really no reason to get hung up on stuff like this.
Edit: Also we got PVP because our producer loves PVP, and can't imagine an MMO without it. More people whined against having it than for having it and that's going back to it being announced at all.

Lol, did you play any Final Fantasy games at all? In I he turns the warrior of light into adults*, IV he is the God of the Eidolons, and IX was used by Kuja as a weapon. Fenrir was a minor summon in VI / IX, a bike, and a terrestrial avatar.
I would like SE to create a lore for beings I would consider lesser primals like Diabolos, Catoblepas, and Fenrir.
Also as fara as FFXI is concerned, celestrial avatars = elder primals and terrestrial avatars = primals. The celestrial avatars had the power to destroy the world.

I've played em all, even the Seiken Densetsu and SaGa ones that got retagged - Hence why I said "the majority of the storylines didn't revolve around him" so he's always been an iconic summon because most of the games he's always been the most power enemy or summon, very few times has a storyline ever included him, let alone revolved purely around him or events surrounding him, that wasn't until XI did he become a "Main story character", in IX him and Alexander were key summons.
They originally stated that there were 'Lesser Primals" as well.
I should've said "recurred more than once" & "outside of the most iconic" but...
Ramuh#
Kirin
Siren#
Cait Sith
Ifrit#
Shiva#
Unicorn
Maduin#
Shoat
Phantom
Carbuncle#
Bismarck

Zona Seeker

Fenrir#
Terrato

Alexander#
Phoenix#
Odin#
Bahamut#
Ragnarok

Raiden

Cactuar#
Diabolos#
Gilgamesh#
#used as a summon since (15/30, 9/24 excluding the most iconic core).
A few of those not having appeared as summonable or story-significant more than once since, Fenrir being one.
I like the idea to put Fenrir into a Dungeon. Why not.
