Yeah I guess they didnt lie when they specifically told us that the goobue mount obtained before 2.0 was going to be legacy exclusive, before releasing the post 2.0 goobue mount... oh wait they made the top piece on its head different so 'it's ok'.

The Goobbue was never Legacy exclusive. Only exclusive to the players who spoke with the Wandering Minstrel while he was outside of the jail. Be a Legacy player didn't give you automatic the Goobbue mount. And the top piece is not the only difference, the gender is also different ^^

Maybe they should have said the rug was gonna be exclusive then. Not the mount. Now they are talking about making more 1.0 items obtainable in 2.0... on top of all this. Like...if you wanted the items you should have been around for it.

Hmm, what over items are 1.0 exclusive? Besides the Goobbue there would be only the Legacy Chocobo, Dalamud Horn and the White Ravens that were explicit mentioned as not obtainabe in ARR, if I remember it right. And the bonus items from purchasing different game boxes.

i get what youre saying, and like i said in another thread related to this i dont honestly care too much about this but its more of the factor this was seen as an item only obtainable through attending said event, you're all looking at this from a perspective of NOW rather than BEFORE which is what the issue is being, we were pretty much told indirectly that this item would be for those who ATTEND the fan festival, now its obtainable by watching said events which they've done recently just to rake in a few extra pennies which business at the end of the day, is business..

but im more annoyed at the factor is of how this item which was a selling point for most people to attend (not just for the item, but it would help undecisive people to pick going due to the physical giveaways and contests aswell as an item to show off in game as "look at me i went to the Fan Festival") which is what most people would use this attire for.

Its just the fact of this being known as "exclusive" which is was. until now. before this was announced we had no knowledge of ANY OTHER WAY to obtain this attire. and now its going to be obtainable via a livestream option which a few of us attending don't really feel is right.

Like i said in another thread though, if it was another item that lets say attendees didnt get such as a sylph costume, or so forth, it would have went down better than this has.

If the livestream is the same price as a ticket (or SLIGHTLY reduced) then it would only really be fair, if its considerably cheaper, then its just a kick to those attending the event. especially since now if you bought tickets and cant attend it for whatever reason, you dont get the attire.)

Why? Because it's essentially saying that, "Yes, everything else there is great and dandy, but if you're a hardcore Final Fantasy fan and in-game item collector, you're gonna want to go for this Moogle attire!"

Do you see the problem? If I don't have to actually go for the Moogle attire, why in the hell is it the core of the free giveaway for attendees? It's not really the main giveaway, for $120 plus other expenses, if I can literally get it without leaving my bathroom with a laptop, now is it?

I'm noticing a trend here. It's that Square is abysmal when it comes to wording and context, and really needs to proof-read that shit.

From reading the posts on this thread, I get the notion that some players going to the Fan Festival don't give s**t about the festival itself. It's some crappy ingame item, which suddenly is not so special any more, that seems to ruin the whole thing for them. IF that's the case, I reckon someone should have their head and priorities examined.

Again: no, they never said it was exclusive, nor there wouldn't be any other way to obtain it.
It was also not even implied, even if the text is written in a way to 'hook you in'.

They just said "People who come to the festival will get a code for an in-game costume". That's it. Any other interpretation is wrong. There is nothing more to that sentense. No "exclusive" or "only" anywhere.
People (like OP) assumed it would be exclusive. But this assumption was false, and it's not SE fault.

It's not because I say "you can enter in this room by using this door", that there is no other door leading to that room.
