Just my two cents here on PF. I'm on Jenova. We have like 8k players total, and only like 400 on at a time. a pf for cutscene watching story mode, would take not hours, not days, but months to fill if ever. lower population servers rely on df, because our pf's aren't always reliable.

that said, I just skipped the cutscenes my first time through. I watched a "lets play" on ffxiv before I even started, so I already know the storyline.

"watch the cutscenes elsewhere" should be part of "read guides before you enter new dungeons". I never go into a dungeon unless I have read and watched at least 2 sites or videos detailing the entire dungeon from start to finish, so I don't screw up and wipe the party. I expect others to use similar preparations, so as to not be a toxic party member.

I understand that you want to be helpful, but wont this ruin the experience for you? I have never watched a video of a dungeon, always joined fresh and winged it. I died a few times, but the mechanics in this game are not that hard and after dying once or twice you understand what you need to do. I hope alot more players stop watching videos online and just press enter duty and experience the dungeon for what it is.

I think the veterans should wait and let the newcomer watch the video, majority of the veterans watched and enjoyed the cutscenes when the game first launched, so why deny this same experience to another player? Afcourse this is the fault of Square Enix, but we the players should be more patient + we get 100 more Myth for helping them complete this dungeon.

I understand we all want to finish the dungeon as fast as possible, but the 200 myth is nothing compared to what you can farm at the new HM dungeons.

Perhaps part of this is the fact that I refuse to run a dps character (mostly because of the feeling of worthlessness at being truly expendable). being a tank or a healer, if you don't know what is going on, it hurts the party a lot more, and I have seen plenty of people abandon a duty on the first wipe. they see a bad player in the important positions, and are too impatient to deal with it.

I'm also not really one for casual storyline experiences. If I want to take my time in a storyline, ill buy "final fantasy XIV: the trilogy" books, and read them. I play a game, not a visual novel. lets get the gear, get the quest completion, and get to the next part of the storyline. TcoB is coming soon.

Also, yes I understand this isn't a normal playstyle, and that many people want to watch these cutscenes. I wont stop them, and if things come to a standstill I can always tab over to another screen and work on crafting rotations in the meantime.
