Heavy makes sense as a debuff for, say, a boss fight where you have to get out of AoEs and the decreased movement speed makes it more challenging. But in the open world, it almost never does anything interesting or presents any kind of legitimate challenge. It's mostly just an annoyance when I am trying to pass through an area and have no intention of fighting at all. I see no harm in at least decreasing the duration of Heavy for some of these mobs.

Heavy was OK while leveling up. It was something you received only here and there because you didn’t always sit on a Mount while exploring the different areas. And it was actually at least a tad dangerous from time to time. But with Item Levels > 100 and people no longer exploring areas but just rushing through them to get somewhere, it has completely lost its meaning and has become nothing but annoying. So I am also all for a Change. Either reduce the chain possibility (x-times Heavy in a row) or make us immune after the first time it was applied or add a new type of potion to the Vendor or a craft for the alchemist which provides immunity for a limited time.

While we are at it, I could also do without the mind-numbing random agro from mobs that are nothing but blowflies for me. This is also a Game Feature which was relevant when you level up because you had to watch where you go and couldn’t just cross dozen of enemies like you do it now.
When I am in the open World nowadays, this is nothing but annoying to me. They can’t hurt me and they do not drop anything that I want. They just take some of my time.

Dunno how it is with you but for me, these constantly aggroing mobs are sometimes stressful. No matter if I just want to go quickly to a Hunt location or do my daily quests, these little buggers are always there waiting to aggro me lol. When I did combat beast tribe quests, I killed more of these random buggers than actual quest objectives.

There are areas in the Game I avoid unless I have to go there for something particular. Western La Noscea with all the splish splash casters and the tedious Sylphs with their bzz bzz Lightning skills all the time..I truly hate them lol. I wish the open World mobs would either be relevant (reads: dangerous) or connected to the player’s Item Level, not its Character level.

This is a complex combination of moves that is passed down by the great beastman Gods and to take it away would be to deny their faith sadly....
And if the beastmen could be played by the players, there would still be some that manage to mess up their rotation.

Yeah I understand the whole thing with being careful when riding through the areas, but there are always bottlenecks where -regardless of how careful you are- 3 or more mobs come together to make your life hell. It doesn't add anything storywise or combat wise, it is just an unbelievable annoyance.
Those ankle biters don't even do any damage. I can unmount, go grab a pizza, watch a movie, come back and I would still not be dead (heavy, heavy exaggeration here just in case you missed it). It is not really a challenge at lv50 and being so highly geared.

And really, if you spent several hours looking for hunt mobs, do you really want to be extra careful on your ride through potential spawning grounds? Same if you just want to get those damn mobs for your daily hunt or if you just want to pass through?

It makes sense if you are still leveling or if you just freshly passed the godlike lv 50 mark, but with iLvl 100 and above those pesky little buggers shouldn't slow you down for so long and repeatedly. Therefore, at least consider a diminishing return so that you don't just waste your life crawling out of these areas. Or give us a potion (which surely will have a diminishing return, right? >.>)

Alternatively, SE could make it worth while killing them besides the occasional egg, wing, tooth and 5 gil or whatever else drops. At the moment, it doesn't add anything remotely useful to the gaming experience besides a whole ton of frustration which makes me fear for the safety of my screen the next time i feel the urge to punch something after being hit by heavy 3 times in a row.

Your heavy debuff is about to expire and you got the heavy debuff from another mob... and another one...
At least put some heavy debuff resistance on player, like we can't keep stun our enemies, can we?

A least it doesn't knock you off your mount like it did in WoW when I played!

Also on DRG "Elusive Jump" sheds the heavy effect so this might work for other hate shedding abilities. I dismount > face the mob > elusive jump away from it > remount.

What I find funny about the beast tribes is that I have maximum friendship with all of them thanks to the Beast tribe quests. But still, as soon as I leave their camp, they are all over me, aggoing me, trying to kill me. And put the devastating Heavy on me. Must be really good friends! Imagine what they would be like if you were not their friends. Oh wait......

When I started the first series of tribe quests, I was hoping that in the end, when I am their best friend, they will just leave me alone and stop aggroing me. Boy, was I naive.
