In SE's defense they did not remove the PayPal option, it was through a third party that went belly up. they left and so did the paypal option . . .

Maybe, the third party removed a prepaid card option, and that was it, SE didn't had to remove the whole lot, but there might be something else.

They removed the option because it was provided by a third party service that was shut down entirely. Don't lie if you want sympathy.

The third party "Play Span" is up and operational, just one portion of it (the Ultimate Pay Points) shut down, and certainly, not the PayPal system.
