Are you doing Coil at the same time or around the same hours every week? This game's RNG is strongly tied to server time, the way it works is the drop % of certain items and item sets by type (striking, maiming, healing, casting, fending and their corresponding weapons) gets increased at certain server time frames. Say for example, from 4pm to 5pm maiming and healing will get an increased drop %, but other items can still drop.

Even now farming primals and especially T4 for Nexus you'll start to notice some items drop way more frequently, much more than others and some item sets will be exactly the same back to back to back to back. It's also why the Atma theory about drops tied to certain JP or server times isn't as crazy as some people think.

You're saying that your inexperience is irrelevant because it happens in other games but the thing is that what happens in other game is irrelevant for this one. We are discussing an issue in this game and trying to find a solution for this game so your inexperience in this game is relevant to the topic at hand.

Most people enjoy casinos, they are designed that way. Its human nature to enjoy gambling. Sure its not for everyone, but most people (as long as they dont bet more than they can afford) have a good time.
"Most" people don't enjoy losing money casino's and it's not even a good comparision anyway.

Very few people I know gamble frequently.

I'm not denying that, but the purpose of that spreadsheet was to counter people saying that the RNG is biased because they say <blah> drop 4 times or never see <blah> after <blah> runs.

Would I prefer a different system? Yes, but from what I can see, the RNG is what is it, RNG. Not RNG-to-troll-you-on-purpose.

You contradict yourself here, and find the sentence where I said get full SOLD gear, I said it fills in gaps, and those gap fillers are more then good enough, theres no reason to change the system and utterly ignore what SOLD gear was designed for to coil raiders, I have full comprehension on the matter, Ive raided in high end progression in WOW for a few years now.

Also I know what RNG is thank you, try waiting 8 months for a drop, did I act like people here, nope.

Again someone who doesnt know what WOW token system is, it only works on TIER GEAR, which isnt unique to 1 person, example, for a chest TIER TOKEN, named x Conqueror, this is for priests, paladins and warlock classes, and they all compete for this same item, FF14 has even less competition for items and yet people still complain.

    Lets go into weapons;

Casting staffs, can be used by warlocks, mages, balance druids, resto druids, all priest specs, resto shaman and elemental shamans, some bosses only drop 1 staff potentially, and all these classes can roll on it, and in 25 man raids, you can have everysingle one of those classes, and yet desipte the RNG and competition, people in WOW complain less then this playerbase.

2 H great swords/axe/maces - usable, by retribution paladins, ALL Deathknight specs, fury and arms warrior, and they all compete for those items together.

And most weapons are only raid drops as well.

And WOW still has the exact same lock out system as FF14, same trinity system, same RNG on loot drops, FF14 even has less loot competition between classes, the main weapons are raid drops just like FF14, yet the WOW playerbase complains less about RNG like this and deals with it and moves on.

And not many players ever get full BIS per tier other then the absolute bleeding edge.

The flip side to this is if you get a token that, say, covers SCH BLM WHM and SMN, 4 weeks in a row, you can actually have 4 different people use it rather than getting a SMN book 4 weeks in a row that 1 person can use and 3 other people can put on an alt class.

I like a tiered token system way better than anything else. Loved it in SWTOR. Would love it here.

Dont have issues with if the tokens at least covered a few classes in each token and in wow, they arent always certain to drop, you may also get the other tokens instead so the RNG is still there, so theres still competition for items, and only for a few slots of gear, the tier gear has bonus effects when you have 2 and 4 of them, but not weapons, that be too easy, what people dont seem to understand, is the purpose of accepting filler gear and complain like children about minor sidegrades to this extent.

I don't think "complaining like children" is necessarily out of the question for running locked out content for multiple months and not seeing any rewards.

Good luck OP! After seeing the caster ring from T6 drop for the first time about 4 months ago, I rolled and lost the lot. Last night was only the second time I've seen it drop...I won the lot! Other parties have claimed that ring drops like rain, so just gotta keep at it and hope RNG finally smiles on you.
