IRC, Skype and many other games use /me for third person text, then ARR had to try to be different and make /me a random emote only keeping /em(ote), but hey, it's still not late for this small change.

Hmm,
An emote where you point at yourself is not really a random emote for /me
It's also not really a ARR thing, the /me emote exist since 2010 ^^
/em is for customized emote text, like "/em point at all the people and laught"
Considering it's not used that way almost everywhere else... Random for me.
Meant to say FFXIV not ARR.
Because everything XI does is perfect and this game should copy every little thing from XI. How about comparing the games where /me is used as our /em vs those were /me is something else?
This reminds me of that "casting lots" discussion.
(before I get flamed, I'm not totally against suggestions from XI, but I loathe that attitude of "It was like that in XI, so it has to be that way here".)

Just cause it was like that way in XI doesn't make it bad or wrong. Its how its always been for a FF mmo so its how us vets are used to it. Changing it now will help some while making it annoying for others.Because everything XI does is perfect and this game should copy every little thing from XI.
