    Q: Level Cap Raised and iLevels.

    I just wondering, if and when SE raises the class level cap, how are they going to handle ilevels?
    I mean, for example, if they raised the level cap to 60, will they change all the ilevel 60+ equipment so that you have to be level 60 or will they keep it at level 50 and just add new equipment with a higher ilevel?
    But then how high will the ilevels go? We're already past i100.

    Given how closely they're already following the WoW model with gear level vs character level, I'd imagine they'll just continue to do so. All the current gear will stay the same, and level 51+ will start a little over the highest at the time. If level 50 gear gets up to i150 before the cap is raised, level 51 gear will start at i160 or something like that. Possibly a little overlap so that the top-end, harder-to-get gear makes acceptable beginner gear for level 60.

    iLvl is not associated with the player level, it's just common for the iLvL of gear to go up as you obtain higher level gear. They have the ability to implement an i110 piece useable for lvl 1 players if they wish, it just doesn't make any sense to have such a thing in the game.

    For the level raise, they can simply add new piece of gear that have higher level requirements but still match the iLvL of existing gear.
    Example:
    lvl 51 gear can revolve around i70
    lvl 52 -> i90
    lvl 53 -> 110
    lvl 54 -> 130
    lvl 55 -> 150+

    Basically what this means is that if you are sitting at 110 gear right now, you will either find some i130 gear for lvl 50 in Coil3 or level to 54 and pick up some of that gear when a level cap is raised. Both pieces will be equivalent in stats but it will be much much easier to access the level appropriate piece in the long run.

    ...or they can just pick up from the last iLevel implemented.


    If current iLevel is 310 at level 50, and they introduce level 60, the iLevel could be 215+ and just continue on.

    The idea of re-factoring previous iLevels could be a serious pain to not only SE but the players.

    Item level has nothing to do mechanically with character level.

    They just coincidentally went up together during 1-50. It's possible for them to release il115 gear for Lv1 characters.

    Which would be HILARIOUS. XD

    Personally, I think if they raise the level cap to, say, 70, one of two things would happen:

    - Either ilvl 55-70 gear would have its level raised to match its ilvl, and all higher ilvl gear will have its ilvl raised to 70, OR
    - No change will be made whatsoever to existing gear.

    The former choice would be better for newbie players, as the latter option would mean that they'd be under a lot of pressure to collect higher ilvl stuff before other players would do dungeons, Primal fights, etc with them. It's easier to lay the burden at the newbies' feet, and insist that they overgear and overlevel for content.

    The latter, though, is easier to implement, and so that's the route I expect SE to take.

    they will probably reset to ilvl55 ( example next cap is lv55 )

    and start all over with the new lv55 cap

    they will also add character lv in party finder too so ppl lv50 and say i135 cant be locked off
