Collector Chest - Suggestion for Dev

    Hi,

One of our biggest problem is the inventory, especially the armory chest. and with the new job coming in 2.4, the nightmare will increase. i know i level up DoH and DoL, and just for that i've got 11 slots used just for them (one set per discipline). You add to that the 9 classes, and you already have 20 slot used. only 5 remain, less 1 soon for the Ninja Job......if you like vanity gears, you are always full.......no space for PvP gear set or Hunt gear set.....

Well this is my suggestion to help solving the problem.

it's to have for the character in addition to the inventory and the armory chest, a collector chest (or book). The collector chest could be divide in two or 2 types. first one the Gear collector chest. A sort of book that reference the important gear set (this web site give a non exhaustive list, but could be a good beginning http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Category:Gear_Set). associated to it, you will have achievement, and in some cases special items (lv1 just to use with glamour) but unique to the collector achievement.
It should be a window that present like when you equip your character and you fill the hole with missing pieces to complete collection (with a preview in middle for what can look like our character with the set). When a set is in the collection you cannot equip it, but you can use it to cast glamour(if possible to code it). when you want to equip, you just transfer the gear set to you armory chest.
The Collector chest is available as part of the character menu to easily identify the pieces missing to your collection. And you can have with it a weapon collector, and a jewel collector. You collect some of the more famous blade and you obtain an achievement with a unique blade (lv1 to cast glamour) like the "Collector Blade". and same for all weapon. other achievement could be to collect all primal extreme jewel,etc...
By doing so, we have a new place to store gears, weapon and jewel we want to keep be not necessarily equipped.

But in addition to the problem of space, you also bring people back to some dungeon, like low level Brayflox's Longstop (couple of gear set very nice), or to the Labyrinth of the Ancients or first coil of bahamut because they will look at completed their collection and obtain achievement items.

Well this is it...leave comments. however, i'm pretty sure lot of people could have interest to win the title of gear or weapon collectors and win specific collector's items to cast glamour or special minion, or others..... ( imagine a Garuda minion if you collect all garuda's items from hard and ex)

Well please dev team. GIVE US SPACE TO STORE GEARS......,

As a completionist, I absolutely support the concept of this idea!

Essentially, the chest would permanently install a rare or special item into a kind of "Collector's Case" of sorts, where it can be displayed and used for glamours as if it were in a player's inventory. Perhaps it could also include special lore for every item added. I wouldn't necessarily want any special rewards for it other than getting some lore out of it, but if they existed, they'd be nice.

Yes please. In addition to that I would also add the ability to glamour full sets without switching jobs.

Ex. You have the full Cavalry set and want to glamour it. You go to your Armory Chest > Collection > Gear > Calary. Here you will see all the pieces you obtained (and ones you haven't ) along with the required glamour prism needed. Press the "Glamour All" and poof your glammed in the gear w/o the hassle of withdrawing it from your chest and taking up space in yours. Also include the option to "try on" specific glamours to mix and match before using the glamour all.

Honestly, I'd assumed personal housing was going to be bringing additional storage space a la Moogle Housing... but since personal isn't a thing, some sort of extra storage space we could earn in game beyond retainers would be great.

Call it gobbie bags or whatever, but more storage space already PLEASE!

I like the idea as well. Once glamoured though you do not need to have the piece in your personal inventory. At least I haven't had to.

I think it's more easy than providing storage space in housing. in housing, the problem is that item belong to everyone. if you have a place to show up a set, the issue is how do you block other player from having it, in other words how do you ensure untradable items remain untradable.

if i place a high allagan untradable in the house for show up, and i never used it, i don't have spiritbonding to lock it to me. i can start selling them for high price and that brake all the concept of untradable items in the game.

a collector part of your character don't have this problem.
