My anecdotal evidence can't do justice here. That's to be expected but I don't believe I will ever hit 1000 fates before getting 12 Atma on any job. As I've said, in 2 jobs I've never even come close to hitting 1000 fates but I'll start grinding for Warrior Atma to maybe prove a point.
Not that any of you naysayers care, mind you.
Well good for them.
But the next dude will farm 40 hours because RNG decided to be mean.
One of my Atmas dropped after 9 NINE fates.
Another dropped after 144 ONE HUNDRED FORTY FOUR fates.
It's RANDOM. Some peeps will need 100+ for all their Atmas, some only 30+.
The RNG is the problem here. If they went ahead and said "You get your Atma after you complete the 60th fate in a given zone."
There wouldn't be any drama.
I was going to go for full completion. When I found out I needed to farm 108 atma's (soon 120) that idea wen't out the window. I play far less now.

Just give the derps 12 blank atmas that have to be in inventory and "spiritbonded" within their respective zones through fates... Color grows stronger with each fate, depending upon the difficulty of the fate...
Seems a reasonable solution, but then again, people would cry, "I don't wanna spam 50 lvl 5 fates in each zone... bawwwwwww"
Again your calling honostly people liers and ignoring what's actually happening. All that needstuff to be done is an 70 fate cap, with the rng being the same. This keeps all atmas under 900. Hell even make it so the counter resets if you leave the zone (not DC or log though), just have some sort of checks and balances. My anecdotal evidence can't do justice here. from the first atma to the last it's still about rng. One guy having 9 animii doesnt change the programming.
After doing some theoretical math in my head, people are essentially saying that they grind for FORTY HOURS gameplay hours and don't see a single atma? I just want to tell you now, that the odds of such an occurrence is pretty freakin' small. Those complaining about doing 1000+ fates and not getting a single atma are in a small minority (a very small minority).
No, you're thinking about Alexandrite since they changed that to be dropped by FATEs if you got an Animus or Novus weapon equipped.
