Why shouldn't someone be allowed to watch the cutscenes on first playthrough?

The problem is that people are just way to emotional now days. What do I care if some online e-thug wants to run his/her mouth? The simple fact is I play the game for my enjoyment. I will play it the way I want to play it and quite frankly if people don't like it they can just get over it. I am aware that some people will say that it's my type of attitude that makes the game bad but, just like I stated earlier. I am not here to play the game for everyone else and I will not let some random mouth breather get under my skin.

In this game you will encounter great people from all different walks of life and you will also encounter some really bad people from all different walks of life. It is no different then life. Just roll with the punches and laugh. Laugh because some goof has nothing better to do then spend there days harassing random people that they feel are inferior.

Everyone is allowed to watch cutscenes, it never bothers me if someone does BUT I can also see the opposite side of the argument.

Instead of fighting amongst ourselves (since ppl will NEVER fully agree) I think its up to SE to man up .. adjust the entire cs issue and eliminate the entire problem, admit it has caused grief and actually remove cs from all dungeons.

I have no interest in lore tbh or cs but for those that do they deserve to have an epic 30 min long cs absolutely!!...so have it when the dungeon is opened for the first time via quest...before ever having to actually enter Rushy ppl happy....lore ppl happy

For those saying "if you don't want to watch cutscenes don't run MS" think about what you're saying, the whole system relies on MS roulette feeding people to both MS dungeons, as a proof you can see how there's always only 1 or 2 newbies (very often none), without those people who don't want to watch cutscenes the system would collapse, this is why I said earlier that SE is at fault here, it was a terrible design choice, and they know they are at fault, that's why they allow the kick of people who [don't] want to watch cutscenes because they can't force either opinion without killing the system.

The speed runner being as unhelpful as possible, a jerk to new players and abusing the vote kick function for personal gain is never right.

if there were action taken against those that abuse the kick vote ban, there would be less abuse. until this is done this whole thread is a mute point. There cannot be an agreement among people that feel invested with some entitlement rights, both sides feel they have that right, some for the right reasons, others for the wrong reasons, but it remains tehy both feel they have an entitlement right to something....hard to say who is right or wrong...SE needs to enforce abuse of kick and using a feature as intended and being kicked is an abuse...this is not done ? leads to what we have today. Complaining wont change people, people are selfish in essence...and in a virtual world is even more true.

Because many players forget they were once new at this game and watched the cutscenes the first time they ran these dungeons. It's apparently a big deal for veteran players having to play with new players who want to enjoy the game their first playthrough and waste that extra few minutes of their day.

They are not afk, offline, cheating or harassing you by watching a cut scene. Stop treating people in story mode dungeons like ex primal/latest coil.

Pretty sure that falls into the category of vote kick abusing. They're not trolling, they're not afking, they're not offline, they're not harassing anyone, they're not really doing anything at all to be kicked for. To be honest, the people who should be kicked are the ones who are harassing the new player just for simply watching a cutscene.

However, there is one topic in this thread that seems to be an underlying point of contention: reasons for dismissal that are not strictly "AFK", "Offline", "Harassment", or "Cheating". I would like to address this.

The response from the GM touched on this, although it was missed due to the focus on the first part of that sentence. The reasons for dismissal are not all encompassing, which means that there may be valid reasons for dismissal outside of those four examples. Good examples of this that have been provided in this thread are the refusal to fulfill one's job function. Because of this, it is possible that the reasons provided for dismissal may be found to be accurate if they are used against you. As well, the feelings one may have about the reasons may differ from the feelings of those who voted to dismiss. For example, cultural differences in language may have one person using language they find fairly benign while another person takes great offense to it.

Because of these subjective discrepancies, the final decision on if a violation of the use of the vote dismiss feature is left to a GM after an investigation. In general, abuse of the vote dismiss feature is considered to be a grief tactics violation, which falls under section 3.2 in the Final Fantasy XIV User Agreement. However, it is only after a GM investigation that it can be determined to be a violation of the rules. If you feel that the vote dismiss feature has been abused, please do report it to the GMs through the Help Desk in game, and we will investigate.

Whether you agree or not (which is irrelevant) the fact is that neither side is wrong, groups have the freedom to decide how something should be run, and in fact vote kick doesn't even go through unless the majority votes "yes", you are wrong if you want to force a speed run if the majority doesn't want to, you are wrong if you want to force people to wait for you to finish your cutscenes if the majority doesn't want to, try to understand that you cannot force your opinion on others, even if these are story dungeons.
