Why shouldn't someone be allowed to watch the cutscenes on first playthrough?

Guess what the quest log says? "Use the Duty Finder to enter 'blah'". It doesn't say use the PF, it says to use the DF.

It says to use Duty Finder because there's no other way to enter the instance (or any instance for that matter). Even if you had a full pre-made group you would still need to use the Duty Finder. That isn't an argument against not using Party Finder if you want to ensure groups do the dungeon in a specific way.

Anyone who tells you other wise can get bent. If you get vote kicked for doing it, report the party. They take that very seriously.

nope they dont care of it at all. Their standard answer is that it is a common agreement and they have no reason to interfere in a dispute between players....so in essence you can be kicked for no reasons or any reasons to be more exact, unfortunately.

I am more annoyed at the so called experts running through CM that don't know to not stand next to cannons if you aren't DPS...or angle pulls so that giants don't line attack/aoe them or never stun said attacks so we end up losing cannons all together. Or Spirit bonders purposely hitting all search lights for MORE mobs....

Best option is to change these dungeons from Cutscenes to in-game events. That way EVERYONE has to wait through them.

As much as I feel for you (you should have seen launch back in Sept 2013), people have done the dungeon 100+ times, and don't have the patience for it. While you are watching the cutscene, people are standing around for 5min waiting for you. However, the slightly good thing is most bosses can be cleared -1 person, so while you may miss the fight, you at least get to watch the CS.

The problem with that is that those who have done the run a 100+ times know that there will be people new to the run and should have the common decency to show some patience so that the new people can enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played.

The whole cutscene in group content is crap design.

I'm a healer and I felt forced to skip all my cutscenes because I constantly got the message "X closes in 15 seconds" while I was watching them and then tried to sprint to the next boss.

I get it, this is Final Fantasy and FF always was a Cutscene heavy game, but they simply overdid it when it comes to the Castrum/praetorium.

REMOVE Cutscenes at the beginning or keep them short (10-15s max).
REMOVE Cutscenes in the middle or keep them short (10-15s max).

Put your story stuff at the END of the dungeon, initiate it AFTER the loot distribution when they click the shiny thing to leave.

There ya go: everyone can enjoy them at their leisure w/o having other people wait 5 minutes for some damn video.

Actually, no. If they kick you for wanting to watch cutscenes, especially if they were rude about it, they're misusing the vote kick feature and can be disciplined for it.

When u run this as a tank I stay behind and help the new people and I don't pull bosses until everyone is there, same goes when I'm on my healer. If you pull boss before everyone is there I suddenly misplace provoke or cure on my hotbar woopse.

Enjoy your cutscenes but unfortunately there are always jerks in mmos.

I'm talking about game design in general and it's no secret that what works in single player doesn't necessarily work in a multiplayer setting.

Besides: I'm ilvl 90. I an solo heal both raids easily and I've seen and healed tanks solotanking as well.

Typically it looks like this: 2-3 people are absent during the fights and watch videos, the rest of us clears the place no problemo.
In and out in 20 minutes. Never seen flames or kick requests for people that watch cutscenes. If I did I would intervene anyway.

I did send a message for my own person case, the answer was exactly what I said above....decision of teh group they can kick you because the majority rules and they do not mix into players squabbles, I dont agree with this at all but it is a fact though you can be kicked for anyreasons even for asking *why?*

I know you would like to hear something else but this reality is the sadest one ...Kick should be removed altogether this is a tool for mature people and there arent many of those around

If there is someone new, wait for them, if they ask, explain. You'd spend more time complaining than them getting through the cut scene.

I'd rather things be done right than done quick.
