    @ OP
You are allowed to watch cs, whether it is your first time through the dungeon or your 1000th time.
Players who have beaten the storymode dungeons should know what they are getting into when the queue up for DF.

Also, before the debate gets too heated the game tells new players to use DF for story mode dungeons. It does not tell them to use PF. Therefore, vet players need to get off their high horse and show some tolerance. If you aren't willing to be kind to your fellow players then don't queue for story mode dungeons. Problem solved.
As to the statement of 'well they're allowed to kick you for watching cs', this is false.
According to the rather dumb post by the GMs/Community Reps, the party is allowed to kick players for watching CS *if* and only IF the party agreed before hand that the dungeon run would not feature any cutscene watching. Since most parties don't ever discuss the strat for the run, this "defense" is moot.

My advice OP, is to report people who are being verbally abusive since that most certainly IS against the ToS and basic human conduct. Nowhere on this planet is it socially acceptable to be abusive to another human being.
Please do not let yourself be pressured by these people and do your best to enjoy the game.
I'm sorry that you have had this experience OP. Those people had no right to treat you and the others in your party that way.

Woops, guess your right about that. I was still harassed and locked out of fights, etc. Basically, I wasn't able to experience any of the dungeon XD From my memory, I might as well have been kicked. I stand by the rest of what I said however.

    Because people are ridiculously impatient.

I got locked out of the last boss of Hullbreaker Isle my first time through, the day after it was released, because I sat through the 20-second cutscene...It was pretty funny, actually, I got to relax and watch them beat it by the skin of their teeth, and then the item that dropped was for my class.

We try to solve this in our FC by running the place with new players in the FC via an FC only group as much as possible on the last two cinematic extensive instances of the main plots first era because we know there are a lot of jerks who will speed run it doing DR even though a new player is present. The story of course does not end there as there are two era's, the astral and umbral but those last two instances of the first era are the ones that have the most story cinematic's so we always try to help new players in our FC on those letting them enjoy the cinematic's while doing them instead of having to rely on using the inn to watch them.

Never ever skip a CS if you wish to enjoy the story. We do run with FC as well. And I will join on PF groups that want to watch the CS(actually made a couple of new FC recurits that way as well hehe).
If I wiss be in there I will generally wait for the people watching the cutscenes. I do wish if there was a new player bonus the CSs would be unskippable until the player watching them is done(either they skip or they finish watching it).

Now, I have gotten this far and had mostly positive experiences with my groups, but it seems not so much today.

These two particular people would not stop complaining about the couple of us who were watching the cutscenes and tried to kick both me and the few others multiple times throughout the run, but were not able to.

Now I know and realize that one could watch the scenes later on from the book, but I do not think that is relevant for first time runs, they are put in place for a reason by the developers.

In addition to this, square enix hands out an additional 100 relics if a new member is present for this dungeon. why? likely for this very reason, so that people wouldn't abuse new players.

So, I tried my best and I did still manage to enjoy the cutscenes, but all the cussing and complaining that those two were doing was ever present in the back of my mind and I knew I would receive verbal abuse the minute I came out (and I was not disappointed).
Don't feel bad. Duties should never be designed with CSs in that manner. Fortunately, only two duties in the whole game are like that. I'm also sorry your party mates had foul mouths. Also, slightly off topic, there is a setting in your character configuration that will automatically skip CSs that you have already watched. Convenient if your tired of clicking "skip" on every CS you have already seen.

If I see someone getting hassled for watching cutscenes in a dungeon then I start watching them all myself too.

Get your friends to help you or people that wants to watch the cs in a party to do this if you insist on watching a cut scene. The 100 points bonus is for people to help you clear the instance, not to wait for you being selfish and waste everyone's time. Keep complaining and no old players would come and do these content anymore, then you get to enjoy the 1 hr + cue

I'm new (so new that I still have the plastic wrapping on me) and I nearly stopped playing on my second day when I realised that dungeons were forced and further progression was tied behind them.

I love mmo's but almost never do dungeons. I have MS so some days I find stuff more difficult than others. I am used to it so I just play around it but I hate to inflict my crap on others so I just don't do dungeon content and especially not with peeps I don't know. Anyway ... I was really enjoying the game and first dungeon was sat there so I either cut my losses or grit my teeth. I decided to just give it a try and joined a queue. I explained I was new on entering the dungeon and I have to say that the other peeps in the party were so nice and so kind. They explained stuff as we went along and told me not to worry when I made a mistake. It was an easy dungeon I know but the whole experience was so much better than I expected.

I have done the second and third since and each were equally cool groups. Not a single bad experience. I have now joined a FC full of really cool people, explained my situation and so will hopefully find the next lot of dungeons fun with people I kind of know. I am so happy I did not just quit. However I did not watch the cut scenes. I had discovered you could watch them again via the book in the inn private rooms and so considered that it would be better to see them there rather than have people waiting for the noob.
