Well, according to the developers, they set the minimums for the different trials based on what they needed to beat them. That said, you can totally beat Titan Hard at a lower iL than what they listed. People where doing it all the time before they installed iL requirements.

Same for me. I tanked first timers successfully through it several times, and the only times I ever left the dungeon uncompleted was when the rest of the party abandoned the duty to my chagrin.

The 2nd boss you needed the DPS to know how to do their job great (not good, GREAT) to get rid of the adds fast, and the healer needed to know how to heal well and anticipate things to avoid the party wiping. 3rd boss as far as I could remember was always trash. Siren however, dear god those adds used to have quite a bit of HP and could hit hard. It was hard to take them out if the DPS weren't concentrating on the same target, and if the tank didn't grab them it was possible for somebody to get that annoying song on them while getting attacked by the mob, and for the healer to be unable to take it off just due to the damage being taken.
Zu and Siren also used the "stop DPSing when adds (are about to) come out" rule, this is because the adds in every boss fight spawn (or start hatching) based on the boss' hp%.

I miss how tough demon wall was before. I was really happy I had a hard time with him as he's the only iconic boss that I can remember that caused me wipes on other ff titles(ff7, ff12). sigh..

I remember the original AK. Demon Wall, destroyer of parties. If your DPS wasn't high enough, you were going to wipe to the poison or the bees. I miss those days, having to burn down the bees just to make it in time.

Funny thing about Demon Wall... the first nerf made him harder. I remember before the nerf it was possible to burn him down and ignore the bees. After, those bees became mini-bosses in themselves. The second nerf that removed the bees entirely made the fight a joke. That said... I never had too much trouble with old Demon Wall.

I guess this means we all have old enough characters to pull out the "Back in my day" speech to newbies.

Well, IMHO, PS was the first level 50 dungeon that really I'd expect people to learn mechanics and learn that certain mechanics, no matter how good you are at your class and no matter how epic your team is, cannot be avoided. Before i110 of course...

And I was truely disappointed that it was nerfed down to near AK level. The only reason I got disappointed because it was the chance to make people learn their roles on a lighter level so they rocked it later on in actual raids. Or at least learned that there are set mechanics to go through, and to win, you just go through those notions as required.

A lot of people are talking about Pharos Sirius (Which by the way I loved pre nerf but it was really hard to find 3 other people that actually wanted to do it.) and are forgetting that for many people Aurum Vale is the hardest dungeon in the game (and my favorite). Heck, a lot of people still think Sunken Temple of Quarn and Cutters cry are hard. It's actually really easy to beat the ant boss without kiting but no one even wants to try and don't get me started on how many people don't understand the Chimera fight.

I for one would love it if they implemented harder 4 person content but it seams like it wouldn't be popular enough to be viable. /sadlalafell
