Why shouldn't someone be allowed to watch the cutscenes on first playthrough?

This is what I say to people that complain in my groups in these two dungeons.

Let them watch them. We continue while they watch. You only need One Tank, and One Healer to complete the instance. If all 6 DPS, one healer, and one tank watched the cutscenes, the remaining tank and healer can duo the rest. So continue. If you need more people then one tank and one healer. Then learn to play the game and your class. This place is easily duoable with a tank and healer in iLvl 45 gear (aka the quested blues you get from class quests).

Those of you watching cutscenes shouldn't complain either. Those players who are not waiting and are letting you watch, shouldn't be forced to wait either. They are there to play, not watch. So sit and enjoy the show on your first time. When you run it a second time then you can play through it. You have to compromise too.

Both sides need to live and let live in this situation. First timers watch, veterans run. That's all there is to it.

We have people in the FC that goes either as 2 tanks or 2 healers with the new person FC so they can not be harassed this way. Good luck to the idiots that want to speed run without 2 tanks or 2 healers. And the tanks/healers usually get extra commendations when they do this.

But it really should not come to this. The system can detect when there are players playing thru the first time, and in those cases when it gives out the bonus, it should also disable cut scene skipping for the party, because it is already paying out the bonus.

And sorry about you coming across these speedrunners. The DF pulls from all different servers, and you can not even blacklist those that are not on the same server. And worse news yet, is that once you cross into doing level 50 and above dungeons, the odds of you running into these badly behaved speed runner increases, because they grind this stuff well past the point where they are angry at everyone and everything for no good reason. They see new players as speed bumps to run over and thru, instead of seeing it as a change of pace which might be better for their mental and emotional state.

That is utter BS. They do not get to force the 1st-timer to speed run by locking them out of the boss rooms. This not fair trade, that is harassment and should be reported to the GM.

I just hope SE takes this as an example and NEVER put CS's in the middle of dungeons again for future expansions. I'm cool with people watching for the first time, but the story in dungeons gets treated as a single player experience during a multiplayer run.

No one is entitled to forcing you to skip cutscenes during any dungeon. If they kick you for it, it's an abuse of the vote-kick feature and you should report them.

Conversely, no one is entitled to making the entire party wait for you to finish watching the cutscene before engaging the boss. Their time is just as valuable as yours and if you get locked out of the battle, don't make a stink about it.

If you REALLY want to watch the cutscenes AND participate in all the fights, make a Party Finder or ask your FC/LS to help you through it. Or, if you're a scumbag, queue in a party with yourself and either both healers or both tanks who are willing to wait for you. It will be mostly impossible for the rest of the party to charge through if either both tanks or both healers are waiting for you.

This complete garbage of false equivalence. People are 1st-timer only once. Have the decency to wait for them. Other people should have waited or perhaps already did wait for you for that first time. So pay it forward. Wait for the 1st-timer. This should be put into the system so it is mandatory and not depend on people behaving better.

Just cause you don't like it doesn't mean its not equivelant. Maybe back at launch this was an argument but this is one year later. Waiting 5m doing nothing isn't fun, and no one wants to do that. Most people don't mind you watching cutscenes but to then ask 7 people to sit there doing nothing at all is just being selfish. You are the special case, and people will do what the majority want to do.

GMs don't care, when it comes to party disputes whatever the majority decides is considered fair, GMs allow the kick of players that want to watch cutscenes if the majority doesn't want to.

I don't blame players, I blame SE for ending the story using a dungeon, it's designed in a way that is too dependent on the MS roulette, if you take out the MS roulette people will have to wait long hours before they get a group going and if you keep the roulette you cannot put many restrictions or vets wont run it, ending in the same long queue issue.
