I'm sorry but considering the size of SE and how careful they are about releasing translations I highly doubt this supposed 'mistranslation' would have lasted this long without being corrected.

The problem is a lot worse on legacy servers. All other servers there is plenty of room left. Unfortunately you guys got the short end of this stick, which is why SE isn't really doing much before 2.4 about it.

The specific part that was a misunderstanding was this bit about 850k being some sort of target when the comment was that it wouldn't be enough (not that it would). The Japanese community didn't have this particular confusion because the Japanese text was accurate. But the comment that it would be cheaper than free company housing was there regardless, and that is the point they are criticizing (along with the lack of accessibility and the land race problem).

If you look at gil in terms of buying power because of inflation, they are significantly cheaper now than when they were first released, when his statement was released.

Yes, that is consistent with the latest statement -- that the price is given the availability to individuals now, not what it was back in December/April. Personally, I still think that availability is much more important issue than price, because depreciation would already have caused the price to come into balance with inflation over time if there were still houses to be bought.

Yeah I can sympathize with the legacy worlds cause they truly dont have enough availability. Most servers have plenty of space left though.

They should make NPC uses inflation too then*, since a lot of players who just take part on the NPC side of things are not going to experience the over time inflation like those who work the market board (so you get a divide of players who play "money" vs those who play a more of a closed circuit game). You could argue that players shouldn't play closed circuit and it is their own fault, but I would understand the reasons why players do it - I play market because I want to have money but honestly I hate it lol. Gil generators are all wonky so unless you want to do specific actions SE should be very careful how they price stuff (obviously because of limited supply, demand, and they didn't want to spend their own money on a better system.. this came out - but I believe "this" shouldn't have happened).

Its easy to see people play a lot and not have a lot of money if you just see how they play (the system isn't one unit moving forward together its all disjointed, if you look for it you can make good money but you need to be willing to do those particular actions and not just "play the game").


*this would actually be very dangerous if not carefully done lol, but the point is that there are bunch of players running on one system and some on another - SE using the joint data of hardcore, rmt, market board players, non market board players, and casuals in a disjointed currency (mmorpg money) on a highly desirable system some would argue core (that also makes money and offers other features) is probably not the best idea.

Someone was trying to help people out by offering casual ways to earn money (being nice) but if you noticed the methods to make gil without working the markets it was something like 1 to 5 months to earn a small house, if you played every day and not spend that money casually earned, and then years plus if you went for anything larger than a small.

You buy the plot and don't buy the license to build the house. Now you can sell the plot license because you don't HAVE to build a house on it right away. The plots are sellable.

People are going in, buying multiple plots and then selling them for 10-11 mil because everything is now sold out.

Also, I never got a plot license. I bought the thing from the sign, and you never get anything tradeable so I'm not sure if I understand what the plot license is?

You pay the person to relinquish the land, and then they let it go, goes up for sale and you buy it. If a house is on it, from what I understand No. But Plots, yes.

And I called it a plot license but basically yes, running up and clicking t he sign to buy it now puts the house under your name.. so basically you hold the license.
