Don't forget the video of Yoshi-P saying the only reason people don't have personal houses now is because we're poor and lazy.

The benefit of starting with these systems is pretty insane, imo. SE could start with giving people a new player manageable priced inn sized room. With gil, materials, quests, and time you could make it larger, get an outside, change the outside, all at your own ability.Easy, get rid of housing wards and make each plot instanced. Everyone gets a place the size of an FC room with room for a garden and chocobo stable out front; hell, they could add different outside designs/backgrounds you could choose from. Free houses for everyone. As pointed out before, FFXI did it over a decade ago and recently implemented instanced islands for gardening.
SE screwed up, admit it and get over the white knighting.
Rather than 800 million to buy a mansion house/large plot that scares everyone but the most rich, allow players to spend up to that point over time constantly trickling money out of the system. More people buying in and more people buying housing items, more housing items, more feature ability, more of more. Why do it any other way?
For example I believe I heard that the crystal storyline will come to a bit of a close with zodiac 3.0 becoming bigger, even if that wasn't true, you could have a big point in the story unlock a realm provided by Hydaelyn (big crystal that empowers you and you see in the beginning CS). Now you have a way to get players into a small room fairly easily and ---a lot--- of freedom. If SE wants to sell Coerthas housing, just sell the memory or essence of that zone - players can buy that landscape for their housing, buy leviathan under the water skybox, whatever, so much freedom and none of it will kill the immersion of someone else not in your realm (and it has a lore backing, you're in a pocket of gifted crystallized aether that we already know can take many shapes and forms (primals for example)). How great would it be to make your own FF7 chocobo farm, sky home, underwater nexus, FF is your limit. System is so powerful FC would be wondering how they can get in on it, technically they could but that is less my concern than the current personnel housing mess. /pipedream
Very similar to Wild Star and other MMORPGS, though you've got WoW coming out with Garrisons (not super customizable) and already had a personal farm.

Apologies then, I was just going off of your server on your forum avatar which is usually pretty accurate. I can understand the disappointment if you're on Balmung.
Yeah, I decided I wanted a very lively server.... which I got when I went (back) over to Balmung and there's tons of great people I'm glad I've met... but I guess this is the price I pay XD
Ugh really...? I have been playing since 2.0, I have a full time irl job & work out regularly to stay fit. I do roulettes when I can, try to get most of the challenge log done each week, help out FC mates, I craft what I need but that & selling materia are not my main focus. Seems more like real work to me that the enjoyment from other aspects of this game. I don't have enough gil to afford even a small house.
Coil is considered core content. Housing is considered as add-on feature. Therefore priority is given to core content and we do not have wait for coil. On other hand, we will have to wait for housing. I do not understand why ppl asking Yoshi's resignation because they cannot buy a "personal house" with 300k gils.
Are you telling there is no Medium/Large plots available in your server now? Marlboro has plenty of medium/large house available, even small house in new wards. Not unless you're among the first 1% to get there. After that, no amount of gil will help you.
Neither do I. when I first joined the game, I made millions of gil leveling crafts and gathering jobs. my FC leader decided we all needed to chip in and start saving for the FC house. He kept saying he couldn't put any in because he was "too poor," so I bought gear forhim, put in extra so he'd be covered, etc. He wound up stealing the FC bank and starting a new one.Ugh really...? Then, I joined a new FC and mentioned needing to buy my new level 50 accessories from 2.3 to get the 2 and 3 star crafts. Another crafter said, "I'll make those for you! Just buy all of the ingredients and send them to me!" I did. 2 weeks later, he still hadn't crafted any of my gear. It turns out he'd sold it all on the AH and pocketed the money.
Now, I'm sitting on 197,826 gil and I can't make anything because the market on my server is garbage. Every time I find a halfway decent way to make money, 100 other crafters jump on the bandwagon and drive the prices to almost nothing. It's not that I haven't worked hard. It's that I trusted the wrong people.

Ugh, that's horrible. I really hope you and the rest of your FC filed a report on your FC leader.Neither do I. when I first joined the game, I made millions of gil leveling crafts and gathering jobs. my FC leader decided we all needed to chip in and start saving for the FC house.
