Anyway, instanced player housing is the way to go. It's already used in various places throughout the game (for example, the location you speak with Kan-e-Senna), and even with FC player housing. Most MMOs implement it this way anyway.

That itself is part of their mistake. They had months to correct the image that players had in their mind. They didn't.

ok, so to sommarize, from your point of view: SE is a Video Game company who run 2 MMORPG but has not the technical capacities to give the players content they announced and have a very poor communication service.
