Comments like this make me wish for a downvote button. Nobody is forcing you to continue opening this thread and reading further comments. If people continuing to voice their displeasure, something they should have a right to do, bothers you then don't open the thread.

So... make your own thread? I created this thread to voice a few specific arguments, get others thoughts on it and see if there's support, etc etc. We even got an official response, even if it's not one myself or most others approve of.

Not this senseless flaming back and forth about Japanese culture and whatnot. Not really contributing, and if people want to do that fine, but I'd prefer they took it to their own threads.

Ironically, if this were reddit or most other systems with a downvote component, I would be able to close it myself...

Thank you for all the large amount of feedback regarding the prices of land for personal housing which was implemented in Patch 2.38.

As the current personal housing prices are higher than what players expected, I would like to remind you that I never have, and probably never will, actually care what any of you think.

Is this what people say as "entitlement" mentality? Does being beta 1.0 make people all that special? Everyone waits. But somehow the entitled ones thinks they should not have to wait.

Noone should have to wait. A feature that is limited to only 1% of the player base is a very flawed system/feature. Especially when people are being forced to wait months for an additional 1% to have access to it via patch 2.4 while the remaining 98% do not and cannot obtain it because of the plot system lacking enough plots despite many people being able to afford such plots if there was enough to buy.

Depends on the forum. In a lot of places, moderators will respect the thread originator's desire to stay on a certain topic and, yes, close a thread if it strays too far from it or keeps going in circles (some forums even let the OP do it themselves).

Now if they don't roll that way here that's fine, but I figured I'd ask and see. It's not like there's a shortage of housing threads atm.

In my opinion, Yoshida has made a wrong decision here. The reason is simple - the current housing system can only accommodate less than 5% of player base even they double the wards in 2.4. (720 plots / active players on server).

I do like the current housing system vs instanced housing system. To be honest, I have no interest on instanced housing. I personally formed a FC and bought a medium house before 2.35.

In the latest Producer Live Q&A, Yoshida mentioned about software based solution to increase the number of wards. I believe it will be the way to go. When 2.4 is released, there will be much more wards available (not just doubled). So save enough gil and buy your dream when it is available in a month.

That's exactly the problem. They're working towards doubling the plots in a system that would have to be increased a hundredfold in order to work. So, if they manage to get all the resources they're trying for, then in 2.4 we can go from 1% of the players able to get a house to 2% of the players able to get a house. whoop de doo. What about the other 98% of the players who are still locked out getting access to the content we're paying for?

Your server must really love housing. I wandered through the mists last night and there were a number of small houses left that I could have purchased if I felt like it. Guess the big housing crush skipped our server.

if each of these wards is an actual physical server machine, then what happens a few years from now when its time to downgrade the server structure to remain profitable? When they are combining worlds to maintain a median population?

Also, what happens if you buy a house and then transfer worlds? so long house?

To be fair, 1.0 players can be a little entitled since they backed this game when it was in a deprorable state and they where promised a lot of stuff, which made a lot of them stay and have faith only to have the door closed in their faces when some of the said content arrives and they can't enjoy it.

I was a 1.0 player but I'm not really interested in personal houses but kinda understand the frustration the players feel when this stuff happens.
