First time using a message board? There is no ownership of threads. Just someone who makes the first post.

Depends on the forum. In a lot of places, moderators will respect the thread originator's desire to stay on a certain topic and, yes, close a thread if it strays too far from it or keeps going in circles (some forums even let the OP do it themselves).

Now if they don't roll that way here that's fine, but I figured I'd ask and see. It's not like there's a shortage of housing threads atm.
