Stop for a moment and think about the top piece of content you engage in or are hopeful for and looking forward to. Now imagine that that content is now completely unplayable for you. You're locked out of it entirely and cannot participate. For some of us, that single piece of content has been a personal house, and for those of us from legacy that's literally YEARS we've waited for it, only to have SE completely botch it. The cost is ridiculous, but even that I'm less annoyed about. Its that 1) its a very scare resource and 2) I'm now competing with FCs for it. What in the ever loving hell...seriously. Now I'm looking at waiting until 2.4 drops (whenever that is) for the ~chance~ to buy a house before everyone else scoops them up and we have to wait months again.

All desire to play this game left me the minute I read the patch notes this morning.

I don't really understand why we need these wards. I have an FC house, I travel to the retainer bell the marketboards and then back to my house, I *rarely* visit other parts of my ward. Might as well instance it all.

Just out of interest what sort of Director is YoshiP? Because if he's a Creative Director, then the Producer job needs to be given to someone else. Inherent conflict of interest.

Like I said - conflict of interest. The Director is supposed to report to the Producer for financial and creative guidance. They're supposed to be separate so they can QA each others work. Essentially, YoshiP is just doing what he wants (within the guidelines handed down from SE).

I agree - this is what happened with Mass Effect 3 that led to Casey Hudson resigning. He just did what he wanted, decided to be the writer and not consult anyone, and we ended up with exactly what he promised WOULDN'T happen: a game with three different colored endings that didn't take anything you had done up to that point into account.

It's terrifying that YoshiP is going down this same road - someone has got to put this game back on track. How could he go so wrong so fast?

Doubling it won't even be enough. There weren't enough wards for the FC's as it was - at least not at the affordable end of the spectrum. There's a few of the 40 mil ones on Balmung - I just took a cursory look to see if there was anything I could get.

Exactly. A FC member of mine did a bit of math and even assuming they do double the available wards that's only going to allow something in the neighbourhood of a few thousand plots of land. For a server that has tens of thousands of players.

We are going to see the exact same issue come 2.4 with the small plots. Larges will be available of course, because they're only accessible to the 1% of players, the RMT, and the big FCs (which is reasonable).

The only way for them to solve this now is to implement a "one plot per server per account" policy and ensure a large portion of the new wards are Small plots. If they keep the same distribution they have now then housing is a system only for the elite and a status symbol.

So, the other game that is 11 years old, full of spaghetti noodle code from PS2, managed to give ALL players FREE mog house, AND ALSO FREE small island where you can garden and rear your monster. I still do not get this housing fiasco, why not give everyone FREE housing on instanced server, and a plot of island to farm, garden, and raise monster. And no, I DO NOT need to interact with FC, LS, the whole server and everyone else. Just a private space to decorate and get away from it all....

You make a good point. Now that I think about it, if I was renting a home that promised me 3 bedrooms and 1300 sq. ft. for $1000 a month, but once I moved everything in (furniture, family, etc) and it turned out to be a 1-bedroom, 650 sq. ft. place for the same price, even though the owner gave me the specs in a live letter a couple months ago, and promised me it would be cheaper than FC housing, and oh, now I need to get my shit out of there because someone actually showed up at 4am and claimed it before I did, and because all of this went down, I decided I wasn't going to pay for it anymore...
