After looking about some characters who feel they are the 99%, having high end minions like blue birds, every mount the game has, and fancy glamour gear; you might want to rethink how you save up money for a "feature I've been waiting for since launch."

If people spent more time doing game content, instead of lounging here on the forums, you would have no problems making 4-5 mil for a Small House on Legacy servers. It's not as if you didn't get prior notice when Personal Housing was going to be released. It seems to me people just want stuff handed to them without having to make the slightest of efforts. Do dungeon roulette, beast tribe dailies, leves, Challenge Log, spiritbond for materia, crafting, gathering, and all the other content that's available. Quit slacking off and making excuses!

The one complaint I do have is that Personal Housing is mixed in with Free Company Housing. I think SE should have made Personal Housing in a new area and made it unique from Free Company Housing (different look/design). It feels like they just took the easy way out on this.

SE is so full of crapola that I have to figure out where to start on this. First you nerf our gil to 1/10th what we worked our butts off for in 1.0 saying it wouldn't be fair to new players. Restricted us 1.0ers to legacy servers so that we wouldn't have a monopoly on new player servers but let them join our servers which was unfair. Now you stick it to us again with the cost of personal housing. Why do you assume that what we do have left and what we've been able to somewhat make back we want to blow on a personal house? What is wrong with you ppl? I have about 5 mil and change after melding crafting and gathering gear. I figured I would be ok on gil to get a personal house and boy was I dead wrong there.
Stop screwing us over on our gil. Do you want us to be dead broke like alot of us were in ffxi because it seems like u want to take every hard earned gil away from us faster than some can make it. If you are going to do this we of 1.0 want the 9/10ths of the gil you took from us back because with the way you're screwing the hand that feeds you that is the only way to buy a personal house for a lot of players. In ffxi you get a mog house free and now I hear a mog garden free that is your own personal island where you can fish, garden and mine and it's omg FREE!
You are driving ppl to RMTS not making sure they don't go to them. Oh don't forget SE some of us have jobs and work long hours and can't play ffxiv 24/7 and some don't want to at this point. There is not enough content to keep some ppl I know going and personal housing would've occupied them for more time.

This is legitimately an ignorant post. The cost isn't the issue. Anyone can raise 5 mil; we know that. The issue lies in the fact that personal housing is coupled with FC housing, with limited space, instead of being instanced per player. As long as there's limited availability, SE is guaranteeing player lockouts. Which also inevitably guarantees frustrated, no-longer-wanting-to-pay-for-content-they-can't-experience players, which guarantees less revenue, which guarantees less content for EVERYONE!

Aside from trolls, people generally complain on the forums because they WANT the game to succeed; because they see a void that could be filled which would make them want to play more. Your post on the other hand, has no redeeming qualities.

I'm sure you realize how the most expensive personal house would be 870,500,000 in 1.0 gil. LOL.

Can you imagine housing costing that much in 1.0? Unthinkable. Then Yoshi whacks a zero off of everyone's gil promising it is simply a game-wide 'redenomination'. Well that was another lie. You can't tell me that a single personal house would have ever cost 870 mil in 1.0.

You know the total number of plots available now? They're working to double that for 2.4, with the option to release many, many more because they know that what they currently have isn't enough. It was all they were able to release right now due to technical limitations.

Doubling it won't even be enough. There weren't enough wards for the FC's as it was - at least not at the affordable end of the spectrum. There's a few of the 40 mil ones on Balmung - I just took a cursory look to see if there was anything I could get.

I don't understand why it was implemented this way. XI's mog houses were perfect in every way. They were instanced, people could come in and see, we could have our little flower pots to grow our ores, and we could decorate with all the cool things we collected during our gaming experience.

Instead of something like that, that even XI's hamster servers could handle, they want to just add more massive wards that will eventually cause the machines to buckle. And they WILL buckle.

And also, many other games have implemented housing on a large scale from the get-go. To me it sounds like they just don't want to fork over the 10k USD or whatever for another database server until they absolutely have to. /eyeroll

Indeed. SWTOR (a free to play game) put off its equivalent of personal housing for six months after the announced release date because it wasn't good enough.

Just out of interest what sort of Director is YoshiP? Because if he's a Creative Director, then the Producer job needs to be given to someone else. Inherent conflict of interest.
