No FC room, no personal house... big deal??

I don't want a room in the FC, nor I need a personal house. What is all this fuss about personal house prices? If it is too high, don't buy it and wait for the price to come down. If other people have been saving up for this and can afford the prices now, more power to them.

Why are people complaining about a total optional vanity acquisition? Maybe they should have gated this behind a grind like atma?

The 1% that have cash today get the houses today, and then that's it. The other 99% never saved up anyways. So what is the problem here?

Make that the 1% who saved up, and also were available to get online as soon as the servers came up, and also have the fastest download speeds, so they were able to get online before the rest of the playerbase could, got a chance to buy houses today. The other 99% cannot buy a house, no matter how much they have saved up, because there are no houses to be had.

Not anymore. The FC Housing has been combined in with this broken "Personal Housing" system, so it's all gone as well. It's now just as impossible for FCs to get a house as it is for individuals.

Those FCs that (like mine) have been working on getting up to rank 6 so we can get an FC house are out of luck. Even once we reach that milestone it will mean nothing, as there are no FC houses to buy. Those FCs that are raising money to afford an FC house are out of luck. They may as well not bother, since there are none to be had. Those that took a while to save up that money, so were out of plots by the time they saved enough and were waiting on more wards to be added are out of luck, because once a couple more wards were finally added, they were bought up by a few rich individuals and gone before many of the FC's that had been waiting for them got a chance.

Basically, if you don't already have a house, you'll likely never have access to buying one, neither as an individual nor an FC. Not unless SE changes direction and comes out with an entirely different system, which it doesn't sound like they're even planning on. (We've already been told that 2.4 is just extending this horribly broken system rather than fixing it.)

You can get your personal housing by getting a room in the FC house. But people forget about that too. Personally I would prefer if they just left it like that. People should have an strong incentive to be part of a FC.

According to several people I've talked to, 1 person bought up 4 houses on our server alone while they were still available. When you release a patch and the whole point of calling it a patch is to release personal housing and you get what we received with how we received it, Theres really not a reason we shouldn't be upset.

1) Housing what supposed to be much cheaper than FC housing.

It isn't.

2) Personal housing was supposed to be completely separate from personal housing.

It isn't. In fact now everyone has to compete for the same small amount of housing including multiple purchases of properties. Even if its false that 1 person bought 4 houses, according to the game that can at least purchase 2 houses per character. One for a FC and one for personal in an extremely limited market. In fact, I know many people that play 2+ accounts at once. Each of those accounts can have 1 FC house and at least 1 personal house. This is not what we were led to believe about personal housing by yoshi himself. Not only did they not give us personal housing, they opened up all housing so individuals can purchase them. ie the very few select people who have extorted and/or controlled the market or just plain got lucky making a killing before the market stabilized or even grabbed onto a niche market and profited massively (yes it is actually happening because friends of mine were in fact threatened in game by a person trying to control prices, which is completely silly and stupid... but it is happening)

3) You can't even share permissions with another person either in a personal room or a private house. Like with your RL spouse. Even LOTRO which has similar housing manages to have custom lists of people with who can access/edit the property. Its really not rocket science.

I think the majority of people complaining actually either:

1. Wanted a personal space to call their own that was unaffected by the shifting tides of FC politics. Not everyone is strongly attached to a FC.
2. People in 'homeless' FC's now need to complete with individuals for the SAME land...and therefore the same perks
-Some content in game is 'locked' behind housing. The most striking leveling your chocobo beyond Rank 10 (affects your actual character development/gameplay), and dying your bird (vanity but something that is simple and probably really shouldn't have been locked behind housing)
3. People in large FC's with an interest in gardening/decorating are mostly limited as only a small few can actually do these things in large FC's. Even in smaller FC's gardening is limited by plot size and time.

Those are the pragmatic reasons anyway.

Seriously though, people play games such as this one for many different reasons. Obviously personal housing is a desired feature and somewhat expected in a modern mmo. Telling people that what they want is stupid just because it isn't what you want is very brash and just makes you come off like a troll.

One thing that is seriously bothering me is how much people are complaining about how houses are so expensive. Seeing as how most houses sold within hours, they weren't expensive to a lot of people. I had enough to buy one, but I couldn't bring myself to buy one. I like vanity, and I customize my character all the time, but my character is something I always look at. For me, I'm rarely at my FC house, and I don't think I'd go to my own often at all. For me, that's 3mil I can spend elsewhere.

So imagine if the houses were lower price like he said, there is a 95% chance you wouldn't of gotten a house because your above post would of been seconds.

Even if you logged out in the 3 home cities someone also has did the same, which would mean all this fuss over high prices wouldn't of mattered if they were low prices as well.

I think its also about gardening. Having a house means you can garden. Whatever you grow is yours and you don't have to worry about others harvesting it behind your back. Heck, the fact that you can garden is great, since most players don't have garden privileges in their FC
