I wasn't aware people cared about FFXIV during 1.0 times. At least 85% of the player base here definitely wasn't playing during 1.0.

I love random facts like that "85%". Well, I can tell you this. I can answer for myself. I was around during OB of 1.0 and have paid my subs whenever SE asked for them. I have NEVER shut down my account even when I have taken time off. So, I'm definitely going to complain about this. I was there through ALL the troubles. Have stood by SE every time. But I won't during this. They messed up on the housing. Period.

As for anyone else you think you have the "numbers" on, you can speak for them. Otherwise, thanks for the offer but, I'll have to pass.

The fact of the matter is that we were told one thing and that didn't happen. We were told personal housing prices would differ from FC prices and would be much more affordable. This didn't happen. So yeah, we're a bit upset and have decided to express our frustrations. What's so wrong with that?

The playerbase can only blame themselves on that assumption - it was a PLAYER that asked if 850k was enough, and a DEV that said, no it likely would not be enough. How people took that to mean "housing will be 850k!", I don't know. The gossip mill is too strong when the reps aren't able to come out and say "sorry, but you're absolutely off the mark though we can't reveal any numbers right now" (however, it sure would have been nice if they had just to shut people up).

Agreed. I think too many people focused on that number...not what was actually said. I, myself did the same....I wanted so badly to beleive that number.

So lots of people are ragging and bring Yoshi-P and the devs down and they seem to forget how hard they have been working and how they resurrect the game.
I know that we are always excited about what's coming every patch and that this one kinda let lots of ppl down but bashing Yoshi and the team and even asking for Yoshi's resignation? what is wrong with everyone?

Square Enix could have easily prevented this by coming out and making a statement about it. They did not. They let the fanbase speculate and guess with absolutely zero communication about the pricing until the day of the patch. A big heap of the drama today could have so easily been avoided if they had just communicated, but nope. So if fans aren't so happy now, SE only has itself to blame for it. They could have done everything to prevent this and chose to do nothing instead. I do not feel pity for them in the slightest for all the flak they're getting as a result of their poor decision.

People have every right, as do you have every right to defend something that in others opinion is wrong.

I am a little confused. The live letters were suppose to create a transparency from the dev team to the player base. This is not a game with useful posts on the forums from dev team officials. When ever they have a bad idea all they do is head in sand and ignore and wait till the next bad idea distracts players. They seem to average one every 3 months or so. So by Christmas there will be something else

A few comments have been made about people asking for resignation. People being upset that this could even be suggested. I personally am not up for anyone being fired(yet). Lying is one of the few things i have seen people resign/fired for. I managed beta and three weeks. I wouldn't have played 1.0 anymore if SE sent me a check each month.


Would it have been so hard to schedule a live letter and explained why they failed to deliver on some of the stuff they promised. Or even asked the players for feedback. What if houses cost an extra $2 per month. It was the only way to justify server infrastructure. People are more forgiving before
