Not sure where you got all of this. Now you're being mean to me by saying all this stuff. lol. So you can say that vets are mean but if you say newbies are mean then you're a bad person? What is obvious from the way you communicate here, is that you do NOT know how to give acceptable advice to anyone. You may think you are polite, but you are NOT.
Your hatred for new players is coming thru loud and clear. You want to treat them with contempt, but unfortunately, the rest of us strong rejects to your mean-spirited ways.
EDIT: Also I don't give advice unless asked for it. I've said it many times in other threads. When people ask for it they tend to be grateful. I'm talking more about what I've seen happen between other players.

Um... You are aware that Lodestone won't show you people's dungeon gear, right? It shows what people logged out in, which generally means whatever cosmetic gear they wear around town. Now, it does sound like Jonik may indeed be undergeared, but you were being awfully presumptuous to just assume that would be the case. Of course, not everyone will have separate cosmetic sets they wear just in open-world content, but it's pretty common (particularly pre-50 when glamour isn't available).
From my own experience as a tank, having leveled mostly through dungeons and knowing them well, I will say that unless people in the FC need help or a random newbie asks for it, I don't run any of my roulettes as a tank, but rather my bard. The reason for this isn't the random new player (even new to the hard or expert dungeons -- I'm talking all new players from Sastasha to SV HM). The reason are the i100-110 people getting into a roulette like CC or SV NM or even Tam Tara and rushing through it, demanding a 'speed run' even when both other players besides myself and the Coil geared player are new. This has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME I've had a i90-i110 player or two in low level roulettes. I'll tell them we have new players who even state they want a complete run, and usually am ignored and a vote to kick the new player comes up, which I decline. Usually they don't bother trying to vote kick me and just complain the whole run, sometimes even attempting to pull for me to 'speed it up' (those people usually end up dead).
I'm all for speed runs when the group are all high level and obviously there for books or roulette, but new players feel so intimidated by the 'speed run now!' players that I think they even try to go with it when it just isn't possible given their gear/experience. So yes, in my own experience, it isn't the new players who are mean. It has been the high level endgame people who always demand or try to demand speed runs. I feel bad for new players like the OP -- and I'm seeing more and more players who just don't know they 'missed' a job quest and are still CNJ or Archer @35/40...tis sad, indeed.
I am being mean to you.. Funny how sensitive you are on the forums. Do I look like a new player on with a green sprout? What were you saying about new players being mean again?
Actually you are being really mean to the OP. You sure sound like one the ANGRY PEOPLE he is referring to. BTW if you want to believe that infants can be born evil, you are welcomed to that opinion too.
OP, I hope you are taking in all this feedback from our responses.
It is how you went about it Elim, seemed to many of us based on how you expressed yourself that you came in here like a bull in a china shop or simply going straight on the defensive put another way not liking that some older players are being called out on their bad behavior and somehow thinking this might impact you too as an older player and as such was trying to turn it around so everyone else gets blamed except the vets/older players. The example you gave added to this by your pushing the melodramatic tone of it up ten notches and the entire thing seems very unlikely as I have said.

Also re-read your post...not sure why you are being aggressive.
It probably wouldn't be better to say accessories/jewelry. Keep in mind that this is probably the 1st mmorpg that people have played, so they may not know some jargon.
Never said I didn't like vets being called out.It is how you went about it Elim, seemed to many of us based on how you expressed yourself that you came in here like a bull in a china shop or simply going straight on the defensive put another way not liking that some older players are being called out on their bad behavior and somehow thinking this might impact you too as an older player and as such was trying to turn it around so everyone else gets blamed except the vets/older players. When you post on these forums there will be opposing opinions. There is no rule against it.
