I wouldn't doubt it, if they take the ward route they have to ensure all lands will not be taken in one day by people with alts, plus they would want to limit how many people can get houses for a while, they don't have unlimited resources.

I'm not expecting personal housing, days away from patch and no information about it has been released. They normally release information about upcoming major features, no blog post or anything.

Personal housing was confirmed in the last LL, they are going silent due to other reasons... perhaps afraid of our reaction with some of the upcoming content.

Why? I'm pretty sure it will not be like that as that would make no sense whatsover. What would you do for characters on different servers? And even if you have alts on the same server you still need to level them up to 50 and have high GC rank as well - that takes a couple days at least for each alt. SE will not limit / cripple the alts like this.

Allowing multiple houses later on? Maybe. At the launch? It would be the dumbest move ever short of Hunts on SE's part.

SE seems to have zero clue how to judge demand and plan accordingly. They'll likely have 1/10th the number of plots available that are actually needed for all players who want (and can afford) to get one.

I'm still expecting a clustermoogle of epic proportions, and a near bloodbath in the zerg for plots.... or pricing thats so out of whack that the forums actually ignite from the flame posts that go up.

Time will tell I guess, and I'd love for SE to prove me wrong, but their track record to date hasnt been very good.

They seriously need to hit a home run on this after the nightmare that the Hunt rollout was.

It makes perfect sense when you consider how badly SE will underestimate the number of plots needed, and the fact that the top 5-10% richest players who have tons of level 50 alts could go in and buy up a whole zone of plots if they wanted to.......

1 Plot per account per server sounds right to me.

It's things like this that sort of give me the impression that Personal Housing very well could be instanced to a degree. Kind of like how personal rooms are in FC Houses. I mean... how else are they able to allow every, single FC house in all 6 Wards in all Housing areas to have up to a whopping 512 rooms? They're all single instances.


I was speaking with a friend of mine yesterday, actually, and I'm not even entirely convinced that personal housing will be in the Wards, but located in the City themselves. I know that there is a particular area in Gridania that has an NPC that wards people away if they try to approach the area. What's to say that we don't walk there, and a list much like the FC Housing list doesn't appear there and we select which we'd like to enter?

Mind you, this is all raw speculation, but I've been brainstorming as to how SE could not make this situation work where some people won't be able to get houses in time and what-have-you.

In any case, the lack of information is just... a bit irksome to say the least.

Actually, it makes perfect sense. This is how it is on Lord of the Rings Online. The house is shared across all of your alts. Makes housing last a lot longer because people don't buy up all the land for all their alts.

while it won't be this patch. this is going to happen they said we will be able to use the chocobo porter stables one day.
