Atma farming 850+ hours! Is it alright or this game is unfairly broken?

Got 5 Atmas today. 4 Maiden 1 Fish.

It is super RNG. Watch some funny videos or a movie while you're doing it though. It will go by faster.

Many high level boss mob fates are not soloable as a DPS class. Even as a white mage I have a tough time with some of them.
Some are simply impossible due to excessive Mob HP/time constraints or rapidly respawning adds.

But most work pretty well with 2-3 people. His server must be dead if he is constantly the only guy in a zone.

I soloed all my Atmas as a DRG and never had a problem with any of them. When all FATEs have the same chance to give you an Atma, I don't get why some people would waste time on a boss with a lot of HP if nobody's around.

Depending on what it is i'll do them. The main ones I wont bother with are the large boss fates. The ones that have achievement's and small pets linked to them and tend to be on a timer with 30 minutes rather than the standard 15. That being said I do all my Atma farming as a Smn with chocobo out so I don't have as many issues when theres not a lot of people around.

I'm inclined to believe it is possible to go that long without getting all of them... Theoretically it's possible to try forever and never see a single atma.

I took me 600 fates roughly for W Than. I actually began to think it didn't actually exist there despite a friend getting his.

I really can't stand the "oh it took me this long, so you're lying" BS I keep seeing here... Guess what, RNG doesn't treat everyone equally and people have a right to be annoyed wasting their time on garbage content we've levelled past a long time ago.

It's not waste of time if only boss mob fates are up.
You either attempt one or two or wait 15 minutes for them to despawn.

Still, farming Fates solo extends the atma grind into ridiculous timeframes. I'd seriously advise against it.

Only Fates I had problems with were the Kobold ones in outer LaNoscea. Way to much HP / too many adds.

That's not what people are saying. If the OP spent as much time as he said he did, he would of completed far more fates than he has.
