Sorry about that ^^; my internet went our while I was still editing the post, and I have a horrible habit of constantly adding to and editing the OP after it's already posted. **Snow White** Fixed it.

Black body piece, Gold Gauntlets and Sabatons. That's just my opinion.

The shoulders are black because they are died with the body unfortunately, so they don't match, and it seems to all kind of clash. Idk.

I feel as if you've severely limited yourself in your color choices. Five colors out of all of the ones that are available don't do you justice my good sir.
After all, everything goes with black.

If you still want to have dark colored armor you can try going for a dark brown or a dark blue color.
Also if you are worried about being too dark, you try mixing and matching- light colored metal bits, dark tunic, or light tunic, dark colored metal bits, etc.
I think the biggest reason you may be feeling something is off is because your hair is white and it really stands out against the dark armor and chocobo. ^^

The Surcoat dyed anything is fugly. You can do much more with just the hands and feet.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I think you're right, those are just the first colors that stood out to me. That's why I made this post to try to get suggestions. As per your suggestion, I tried Kobald Brown, and I like it, but I'm still not sure. I edited OP to show Kobald Brown. I may try to change up my hair and skintone too.

The only problem with mix-matching colors as you suggested is that the shoulder pads then don't match the rest of the metallic parts of the armor. I haven't count a color combination where it works so good that this is worth over looking as of yet.

Ya I was hoping the gauntlets and boots would match the gold pieces on the body piece but the gold on the body piece is significantly less saturated.

Perhaps try using a different yellow or brown color to match the belt, that mixed with a darker blonde hair color I think would balance out the fact the shoulder pads are still black.

EDIT: Maybe Bone White or Desert Yellow for the gauntlets and sabatons.
EDIT2: I do like the Kobald brown too.

I don't think the black armor looks bad with the choco, but I do like the kobold brown better as it's more unique. Have you tried any grays, perhaps? Not sure if that'll look better than the brown but it's a thought.

I think it might work nicer if you changed up the hair a tiny bit, if the contrast bothers you at all. Worth experimenting with.

I was stuck on Kobald Brown many times while trying to get Soot Black. I almost gave up and stayed there because it looks so close to black.
