Do you regret your name choice?

I do, I went with a female name for my seeker (not meant to be lore friendly btw) and ended up changing to male dunesfolk still using a female name.

Oddly enough no one ever questioned the name choice for a male char, perhaps they think I'm a girl irl or something.

I'd love it if they set up a namingway item in mogstation like they did for fantasia. Granted its a limited system until they set up a better way.

Come XIV, I get it again with choosing Lightsworn as my last name, which is apparently a mistranslated North American Yu-gi-oh deck that is called "Lightroad" originally (or so I was told). I still won't change my name though, as its how I see my character, and hey - I learned some stuff along the way lol.... <_<

Technicality the OCG name for Lightsworn is "Lightlord".

Ontopic. No I don't regret my character name, but then again I doubt I'm gonna be changing species/gender anyway.

I picked the name because I like Auroras and because it'd fit into Lalafell's naming conventions with a little fudging. I think I may have based her design around it, with hair colors evoking the twilit sky and heterocromatic eyes loosely colors after the common colors of the auroras

And unfortunately I play on Jenova, so can't use the transfer trick to get a rename (transfer out, but not back in). Just hoping we get some kind of paid name change at some point similar to Fantasia - it'd seem to make sense given the whole ability to change your race/gender, get married (eventually), etc....

My character names are made up from songs, movies, newspaper articles and many other things - don't usually regret them. As long as anyone can more or less read and spell it relatively easy it's a good name.

I have the exact same problem, it's the only reason I haven't changed to a male. I'm just waiting till the Namingway thing comes out(hopefully in a reasonable amount of time and not years down the line).

Sometimes i get tells from people asking if im from the Orient , because apparently my name sounds orientalic^^
