This is just completely and utterly wrong and you should feel bad for spreading this incorrect information. I did challenge log last night on my rank 10 chocobo and got 200k exp from it.Whats even more sad is the only way to level past 10 is stables or grinding out mobs since you no longer get exp bonus from Challenge log. If a SE rep can entertain me as to why there is no exp bonus for doing the challenge log after level 10, it would be greatly appreciated.

You have to cross breed multiple times though I don't do gardening myself so cannot remember the details of the process. There's a gardening thread here somewhere that'll tell you the steps though, I'm sure. It's something like 3 or 4 crosses before you have a chance at getting even one though and takes like a month.

For Companion Chocobo’s Rank 11 and onward the system was designed so that your companion's stats do not increase, but instead that you increase them by adding skill points and we don’t have any plans at the moment to enhance them. This is because we'd like to keep this as content that is for players that enjoy the companion system instead of making it critical to get a companion to rank 20.
In the future when both players and monsters become stronger we will look into increasing companion stats as well.
In regards to tank-type companions maintaining enmity, it becomes more difficult as players become stronger through higher item levels, so we will look into balancing this separately.

Perhaps give chocobo stats based on player's item level, or at least bonus enmity for tank skills based on ilvl.

As I said in my thread about my rank 20, it hits as hard as my i101 bard and can hold threat off him for a period of time. They definitely get way stronger.

Yea the chocobos get awesome if you dabble into different trees and get multiple passive bonuses since they stack. Feeding them the stat-boosting favorite food also significantly boosts their effectiveness. I think everyone complaining so far is just reacting to misinformation or has just trained their chocobo for barding instead of effectiveness.
And yea someone mentioned this but it bears repeating, this is totally false and you still get challenge log XP past rank 10 and it's still awesome because it remains a % of what you need like always.Whats even more sad is the only way to level past 10 is stables or grinding out mobs since you no longer get exp bonus from Challenge log. If a SE rep can entertain me as to why there is no exp bonus for doing the challenge log after level 10, it would be greatly appreciated.

Not only is it a long grind to level 20 Chocobo but it is also a very long process to acquire the fruit to feed him to unlock higher levels (I still haven't got mine, plus after the long gardening grind you only receive ONE fruit). There does need to be more achievement in levelling past 10.I think for the amount of effort to get to level 20 the following should be given:
1) A really cool, unique barding (Getting the other two specialty bardings is lame)
2) The Chocobo should get a special skill that is on cooldown and used like the SMN pet specials. ie. Chocobo Flare
3) The Chocobo should get the ability to turn into Bahamut, fly you around on its back, and one-shot S ranks.
