    Maybe my memory is wrong or I am skewed. But I see hunters as a group of self-entitlers that some how have imposed there own martial law on the server. Standing in line politely to get your npc was so different. I remember the line Ghelsba Outpost. The first post here is why. He doesnt want players in the zone to have the hunt. He wants it locked out so they have to wait for everyone else to come.

    Except that's not how or why hunt groups started... this was people coming together and figuring out a way to deal with the poor design of hunts in a way that people could actually progress.

    If people were acting out of self-entitlement, they never would have come together to cooperate so heavily.

    Not to get to into it. You are seeing them as a glass half full and a design where they should be able to get as many allied marks as playtime allows. I see a design that says players were only suppose to get a few marks. A group of players coming together and enforcing there will on the server and getting as many marks is opposite of the design. The people who came together are not helping anyone but themselves as a group.

    Is the design bad? Oh god yes so bad. I am sure SE had an idea how many allied seals were going to be made per server. This altruistic group of people have obliterated it and then some.

    I see a design that says players were only suppose to get a few marks.
    I see a design where players were supposed to start catching up to Coil 2 crowds in prep for the next big patch. And I'm pretty sure I'm right about this, because SE never significantly decreased how many seals people could get.

    They're not enforcing their will upon anyone. Nothing in the rules prevents people from pulling early as often as they'd like. That said, nothing in the rules prohibits people from refusing to party with (and letting their friends/group members know about) people who continually undermine them.

    By all means, though, if players are harassing someone, then they should be reported.

    I wish everyone would stop trying to fix hunts. I do not participate in the hunts beyond the daily and weekly hunts, because of the zergfest. I just don't want to lose the drama of many adults acting like 3 year olds that occurs in shout.

    Would you not say the same for Chocobo raising? It takes forever, it's easier to get a class to 50 than to rank 10 a Choco on your own and It's function actually greatly helps you deal with open world content. Buuuut, Players banded together to find ways of speeding up the process and SE gave us some (stables. If handled well people can get a good amount of EXP working together to train stable Chocos).



    Same for Hunt imo. PLayers got together and made a mostly effective system that allows everyone involved the ability to find and get credit for hunts. If SE WANTED it to be limited I'm sure they can make it so that only the first party or 8 players to hit the mark can get cred for it.

    As it stands it benefits no one to have a "I saw it first so it's all my mark" pov. You make everyone else on your server wait 3 hours or so before they can even TRY to find the thing AND it will likely take you more time to kill with a reg party. And people like me would never actually be a part of a hunt because apparently I suck at finding A ranks and the one time I did find one without a party was when I came back to the game and saw a ton of people waiting around something big and decided to check it out ....

    Not everyone. I can't even see A ranks most of the time. And then it disintegrates within 10 seconds before I can even figure out where it's at. There are just way too many people.

    For what? The content the gear would truly be useful for in 2.4, they won't be able to do if they haven't done Second Coil in the first place. The content they will be doing will likely be a face roll in i90 still, and if not, i100.

    The other thing people forget, and we won't know if it's true or not til later on, is SE does not always "fix" things, even if they are unintended. Turn 2 is an example, they did not intend for people to win that easily, but they left it in. Now in second coil, that type of enrage doesn't exist.

    You know what would make hunts better for me? Loading the mob before loading the people. I've never seen more than two seals from an A, and I have to be the one to discover it, and I have no idea what any S ranks look like. The shouts are useless to me even if all I have to do is turn around.

    That is the fix hunts need.
