A High Wind in Ishgard

While some may not be there just yet, the last volley of quests you get from the Ixal Beast Tribe quest line is a doozy. The quest in the title specifically can range anywhere between 3 minutes to 2 hours depending purely on gear and luck. The Detailing II buff drops your CP significantly and then hits you with a whopping 1558 quality, 133 difficulty, and 70 durability. In addition to the buff, as always, your hand gear slot is crippled with the Ehcatl Wristgloves, and you have to make 3 total High Quality items.

Personally, I've been having trouble trying to figure out a strategy for this quest since the debuff easily knocks me down to 110 CP which means consistent percentages between 10 and 15 per item. Is there anyone else with a strategy for toppling this monster of a quest?

Looks like you only have 2 crafts at 50, Maybe level more crafts to get more side-class skills for crafting. Some of them are incredibly useful.

Yeah I'm pretty sure one of them that I already have is pretty much required for this thing (Careful Synthesis II is amazing). Currently my rotation when I do this is

Inner Quiet
Basic Touch if there's a bonus, Careful Synthesis II if not
Basic Touch x5
Careful Synthesis II

This drags out the turns on the item and gives a higher chance the Excellent bonus to appear. While I agree that the key to this quest are the lv15 & 50 abilities you get from the crafting classes, I also realize that it's not realistic to expect every player to have all the lv50 crafting abilities or even specific ones.

@Ashkendor: The main difference between the two threads is that I'm specifically talking about a certain quest where as the one linked is talking about the Ixal quests in general and how the minimum level requirement isn't realistic. I will concede that this specific quest has gotten their attention (which it should) and that it has been more or less the prime example of the difficulty of Ixal quests as a whole. This thread is mainly to help lv50 crafters with this specific quest because of it's insane spike in difficulty.

I don't remember the quest names but I am at level 6 Ixal reputation now and the crafting is not really hard, just different rotation for each quest. Usually takes 0-3 attempts to get idea on how to hq items. I have all crafters at 50 but don't use most of their skills and don't do 1, 2, 3 star crafts unless I need something for housing - so try out some "simpleton style" crafting with basic skills available for all jobs.

This is really the only quest that will give a lv50 crafter trouble when it comes to Ixal dailies. The rest are pitifully easy.

The only? I remember another Ixal quest that also had a similar HQ requirement that made me bash my head into the wall.

This quest is ridiculous when you consider the indicated level. Dungeon ilevel reqs are a little on the low end but at least a skilled group can manage a clear. Skill means shit with this quest. Even having cross class skills is minimal help due to the CP restriction. It's pure RNG with barely a 10% shot at an HQ even with the most solid rotation. People don't have time to spend an hour crafting 50 HQ quest items, especially when each synth gets you no closer to your goal. Maybe give us the ability to turn in 10 NQs for an HQ?

I dread to see what the final crafting quests will be for the Ixal. The last one made me want to shove all my NQ items up Gerolt's bum.
