What am i doing wrong in the Ixal quests?

i have looked but i have yet to find a thread about this,

i have partaked in crafting getting all jobs to 15 and focusing on blacksmithing which is now 39, and these ical missions are making me dispise what was a thing to do while waiting for duty finder. i mean the mission i have been stuck on for now frankly a whole day is constantly crafting for "high wind in ishgaurd" rank 6 quest for the ixal

the mission requires you to craft a component with 113 progress (simple enough done in 3 strikes of my hammer) and 1558 Quality, which is as high as a 3 star master craft (as i have been told by my friends) WHILE our CP is cut by 150, i have no logical sense in seeing how this is a lvl 16 crafters quest, when at best (making use of 3 excilants) i have only gotten to 68% and have it produce a normal quality >...>

theres playing to RNG but then theres just relying on it flat out, and i do not understand how this is a game mechanic

p.s this is the first time i am genuinely annoyed with this game in a quest and i have made a thread about it on the forums :c

It honestly too me about 40~50 attempts as a 35 Carp. Incredibly frustrating.

Sounds like you might need to gear up your main craft and or meld materia to said gear. Also can use food to cover the stats you need to boost or the FC crafting actions also. Crafting side of the game can be an beast to itself. Or you just do the previous rank quest til you care higher lvl to better equip yourself for the next. Just some suggestions.

I haven't had any trouble with the daillies for these guys but I got maxed out materia melded accessories and ilvl 55 tool and also maxed out all my crafts so I have larger selection of actions to select.

Good luck with crafting and keep at it.

What? 1558 quality is like... level 30-ish stuff. This is a level 49 item:

Three star crafts have quality more in the 5k+ range.

Anyway... I suspect you're going to need more cross-class skills. Hasty Touch uses no CP, for example, but is useless without Steady Hand II. Or it may just be a matter of needing more gear. I haven't gotten to the rank 6 quests quite yet (I will today) so I haven't gotten to try these items with a fully melded crafter.

Nah, this is what a three-star looks like.

    High Wind in Ishgard is tough. Took me 18 tries to get 3 HQ and that's with my craft at 50; ;

and for the lvl 15 cross classes i am using the ones that asset (hasty touch being a godsend)

but this one mission seems to just hate any attempt to do it D:

Maybe your friend was confusing the progress and quality numbers? That's about all I can think of.

Level 50 crafting isn't hard, it just requires the correct gear. There are plenty of guides out there for it. ^^

EDIT: I ranked up and by luck I got this quest today. At 50 with a full set of cross-class skills and good equipment, this one takes a little finagling to get but it isn't all that hard. I can see why it'd be very difficult at lower levels, though.

I feel like they all boil down to the same few abilities. Inner Quiet, Steady Hand, Great Strides, Basic/Standard Touch, Synthesis. Cross-class abilities aren't necessary, but materia melds certainly help to get more for your actions.

I just started on the level 6 ones today. I typically just accept all the mats at the same time and synth everything at once. Word the the wise, though, the level 6 quests have different crafting...uhh... debuffs? You know, the restrictions they put on you to access the facility. Unbeknownst to me, you can have more than one debuff, so I ended up with two and it gimped my CP all the way down to 86. XD

It's definitely misleading to show the recipes at level 15-18 but then require HQ results that can only be reliably obtained by level 50 crafters. I was using one that I hadn't leveled up yet but had to switch to a level 50 after rank 5 to get them done.
