VIT potions are horrible, if one needs VIT potion to survive a hit then either the tank's not using his mitigation CDs properly or healers aren't paying attention. STR and Potent Poison potions are better investments, it's better to finish the fight early than dragging it out.

The only decent thing about Vit Potions was back when CT was still a thing, and you could pop a Mega Potion of Vit, followed by Thrill of Battle and then eat the Behemoth King's Meteors :P

Beyond that, they aren't really very useful. As the other guys have said, for Tanks, the only decent potions to use are Strength and Potent Poisoning Potions, but even these don't make a massive difference.

I am also thinking of using Potent Poisoning Potion, either than or STR pots.

I believe you can use both, as they're on separate cooldowns. But I might be wrong, as I've not tried the Poisoning Potions yet.

It's not about needing it. It's a cooldown in a bottle. It's as useful or useless as you want it to be.

I would argue that the amount of time you personally shave off of a kill from using a STR pot as a Shield Oath or Defiance tank is almost insignificant, even 2-3 times in a fight.

Manipulation, you can use Vit pots to get mediocre healers to pre-cast a heal on you before a big hit comes in. It's not needed, but then again, the healer is mediocre.

    Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.

    100% agree.

It really is insignificant. I used to burn 2 STR pots per T9 attempt while learning. Very useless DPS increases in tank stance.

VIT pots are like an extra CD. While useless currently when Coil3 comes out the extra HP will be a nice survival boost.

Shame they made the potions in the game to be meh.. (let's not forget the super "Phoenix Down"!)

Vit, healing potions are useful when low on Cooldowns and healers are busy to.. hmm.. they should be able to combine with your skills so that you will survive.

    Anyway.

I use Spine Drops and Antidote, for when the healers are lazy and don't know that Esuna or Leeches exist.

(Anyone can confirm if someone can use a Gold Needle on you if you are petrified to remove the condition?)

Potions are a little boost. I prefer to use my own MP and Stoneskin myself while waiting for a Cure to pop on me.

The only problem with stone skin is it can be interrupted and it's always interrupts your combo.

Don't use them as a heal use them as an absorb. Just because your not sure how to use something does not mean it sucks.
