What am i doing wrong in the Ixal quests?

What? 1558 quality is like... level 30-ish stuff. This is a level 49 item:



Three star crafts have quality more in the 5k+ range.

Anyway... I suspect you're going to need more cross-class skills. Hasty Touch uses no CP, for example, but is useless without Steady Hand II. Or it may just be a matter of needing more gear. I haven't gotten to the rank 6 quests quite yet (I will today) so I haven't gotten to try these items with a fully melded crafter.

Maybe your friend was confusing the progress and quality numbers? That's about all I can think of.

Level 50 crafting isn't hard, it just requires the correct gear. There are plenty of guides out there for it. ^^

EDIT: I ranked up and by luck I got this quest today. At 50 with a full set of cross-class skills and good equipment, this one takes a little finagling to get but it isn't all that hard. I can see why it'd be very difficult at lower levels, though.

It is a gear +ability thing.
Once you have 50, or all of them to 50 rather and you can do stuff like great strides and blessing, 5k quality is tiny. The level 60 4 star requires 1968 progress, 13187 Quality.

For the quest itself do you steady hand II and hasty touch? that might help a lot. Also remember to use inner quiet at the start, maybe use tricks and master mend. Crafting has strong impacts by gear stats so hard to tell you an exact rotation till I got a better idea what you have to work with, gear wise and the amount of Quality you get per hit, same with progress.
