    New Jobs/Classes for the future maybe?

    Heres what I was thinking for new jobs.

    Red Mage - Buffer, and Regen/Shield healer (use shields and regen to keep tanks and dps at full health)

    Ranger - Uses a rifle, one with animals/beasts/monsters of eoreza and able to tame them to fight side by side.

    Beast master - This one is kind of different, transforms into different beasts, being a healer, dps, or tank.

    Samurai - Idk, Ive always pictured Samurai as DPS and not tanks. but as DPS sam would be easily implemented into the game.

    Dark Knight - Now I was thinking DPS then I thought about (don't kill me) Blood Death Knights from WoW, and thought we could make Dark Knight into a Tank

    This is it for now, Please feel free to discuss, add jobs you think would fit. and why.

    I have an idea for Blue Mage that i'm quite fond of.

    Ala Mhigan + Doman alliance: Wilderness tribes rebelling against the Garlean army.

    Starting with a class called hunter which uses a single Gunblade to hunt it's prey, then finishing off the wounded animal with the blade.

    At 30 you can gain access to 2 jobs, Beast master and Blue mage. These are accessed by meeting 2 different tribes who have gained the ability to use animals powers for their own needs. But have very different ideals on how to use this ability; Beast Master prefers companionship, fighting side by side with the beasts, whereas Blue Mage prefers power, slaying beasts to gain their skills.

    Blue Mage would also make use of dual gunblades to differentiate from beastmaster which would get more interesting wild designs available.

    Both the class and jobs would benefit from skills which involve switching between melee and ranged distances. All Hunter abilities obtained after 30 are only available for Beast Master.

    Instead of gaining skills and beasts from the wild, Hunter would arrive with the FFX monster arena, with a ton of new boss fights. Of these fights you'll be tasked to kill certain monsters as each job to gain a new skill or monster to use in battle. These fights would be undertaken solo and be a challenge when attempted at the correct level. Before progressing onto the next job quest you must have beat unlocked a certain amount of skills / monsters in that level range.

    (monster arena would be open to all jobs/classes for other rewards)

    Both skills and beasts would have no level requirements, but will be subject to scaling with level sync.

    Beast master can own up to 12 monsters, but may only equip 3 at a time (at level 50). Each monster has it's own job type and skill set. unlocked with HNT/MRD.

    Blue Mage can unlock around 25 skills, and is able to equip any 8 of these (at level 50). Every skill slot at 30+ would become a new open skill slot. The level 30, 40 and 50 job skills would be reserved for skills useful to Blue Mages rotation. Unlocked with HNT/BLM.

    Blue Mage would also burn through MP like Black Mage does, but would gain an ability at level 30 where once activated MP will be gained back with each weapon hit until magic is used again. this would work at 100% rate for gun fire and 50% for melee attacks. The level 40 skill would be a stance switcher, in that if you are in melee range you push yourself out to gun range and vice versa.

    Beast would be more of a pet controlled job, where you have the freedom to sit back and shoot while ordering your pet, or get into melee range sharing some of your pets power to fight alongside each other.

    Both would be DPS, but Blue Would have some support abilities available to use. Beast would unlock pet's available to tank and heal, but a beast DPS without a pet would be lacking so utilising these roles would leave dps very low.

    Resetting any skills would reset your hotbar and wouldn't be allowed in battle.



    Now I know this idea isn't currently feasible, I understand all the flaws and unbalance with being overly customisable, but I just think it would be really fun and add an interesting dynamic to the job system. Saying that I do not expect this to be implemented in any way, shape or form. It's just a fun idea I've thought up after many sleepness nights.

    Gosh I certainly hope so. I mean, slave-maker would make FFXIV more distinct in the MMO market but not in the best way...

    Lan30/War15 -> Samurai TANK
    Cnj30/BLM15 -> Blue mage caster DPS
    Blm30/Cnj15 -> Oracle HEALER
    Gla30/War15 -> Barbarian or Knight MELE DPS
    War30/Blm15 -> Dark knight MELE DPS
    Mnk30/War15 -> Black belt MELE DPS
    Arc30/Rog15 -> Ranger RANGED DPS
    Rog30/Mnk15 -> Dancer MELE DPS

    Plausible, however it'd be sword and shield and it shares the same faults as CNJ, that GLA is invested quite heavily in cooldown suite it has. GLA already uses MRD as tertiary class.

    War30/Blm15 -> Dark knight MELE DPS
    Armoury limitation, secondary class worthlessness. Unless Dark Knight will be using axes, it will not come from MRD. Disciples of War cannot use skills by Disciples of Magic. That being said, THM only gives Swiftcast, Surecast, and Blizzara..which would be worthless to DRK.

    Mnk30/War15 -> Black belt MELE DPS
    Monk is Black Belt.

    Arc30/Rog15 -> Ranger RANGED DPS
    There is already a can of worms open about this particular class. Archer can't feasibly house Ranger due to the nature of their skills from 1 all the way to 50.

    Rog30/Mnk15 -> Dancer MELE DPS
    The only thing that's possible. Although, coming from ROG would be weird since it branches straight into Ninja.

    There has been talk of the armory and job system being reworked for the 3.0

    He did say it was speculation for 3.0, so throwing out most of his ideas because they wouldn't work in 2.0 seems hasty.

    Not that I think many of those ideas were any good but you have to bear in mind that we don't really have any idea of just how much the current system is going to be changed.

    I'm rather hoping that the next class will be a DEX class since correct me if I'm wrong, Archer/Bard are the only class/job that uses DEX.
