You know this gives me a thought that they should have included a 2nd Quest chain for this event that has us meet certain people and see their life during the fall of Dalamud through the echo with each Echo vision providing us more lore to what happened during the fall of Dalamud and what happened after.

You use the word immersion way too much. The end of era was just a cutscene nothing more but it was a good cutscene

Nope. It was a multi-month long experience with friends featuring unique storyline quests, intense boss battles and open world dungeon crawling. With LOADS of changes made over time to the open world environment. With the world growing more unstable and dangerous the closer the end drew. That cutscene was nothing more then the final cherry on top to the "experience".

The Rising event had a strange feeling. I can't say it was something happy. It was haunting and mysterious and nothing near a happy celebration for the 1 year ARR anniversary. It was like "laugh while you can, be happy while you can cause terrible things are coming soon". Weird choice for an anniversary event.

It's not really an anniversary event, it's a comemoration for all the ones that died during the fall of Dalamud.

That may be the single most haunting video I've seen in a long time. Ghost towns almost everywhere, everyone waiting for that last moment...it was so haunting, awe-inspiring, tear-jerking, and how you end an MMO. You end it on such a note that it leaves the players remembering that one fleeting moment forever.

Also goes back to what I said on first page, that it annoys me when people say it was just a cutscene, yeah let's skip the months of build up to it with carnage and chaos a plenty

I completely love the Anniversary Event. It was like one last thank you from SE before they move forward in the new Era's story.

It would also be nice if we delivered random items to random players during the moogle delivery quest. Mabinogi has that, why not FFXIV?
