It was amazing.
Plus, being there. Knowing it was never going to happen again.
And that you were a part of Final Fantasy's only ephemeral chapter.
Absolutely priceless.
That's why I wish they would add a "minstrels ballad - end of an era" sure it wouldn't be the same, but I do feel bad that some didnt get to experience something that though was sad, was also so magical , yeah I know the intro movie is there but the immersion isn't, being able to stand with friends and watching the sky literally fall, then bam cutscene
I spammed the screenshot button while standing beside the YoshiP lookalike XDYESS!! I was like wtf just happened?? it was so eerie! and then it turned to Fog in Limsa which made it even more scary. The song sounded kinda haunted to me.
it was awesome!
...and at the same time, it kinda made me feel like I wanted more time with the Wandering Minstrel. /sigh
It is hauntingly beautiful![]()

You know, looking back on it, I see "Answers" as actually being the same kind of deal as the Primal battle themes. There are multiple stages of "Answers" that get progressively more powerful. It makes me wonder if, were we instead were playing as Garlean Soldiers, we would hear this theme song as a boss theme as we fought the Warriors of Light. Then again, that's just meaningless conjecture. The mother Hydaelyn, the crystal of light, singing a song to comfort her children in the hour of destruction. Easing them into their inevitable death with a sorrowful but hopeful melody in their hearts. You may die this day but your lives and sacrifices will never be forgotten.
Then again, I wonder if there will be an antithesis to this song when the players fight Zodiark, called "Lies" that actually pairs up with "Answers" almost flawlessly, with a weaker variant being used as the boss theme against the Ascians.

Oh sweet, I'm in that video :3
I miss my old voice
You use the word immersion way too much. The end of era was just a cutscene nothing more but it was a good cutsceneThat's why I wish they would add a "minstrels ballad - end of an era" sure it wouldn't be the same, but I do feel bad that some didnt get to experience something that though was sad, was also so magical , yeah I know the intro movie is there but the immersion isn't, being able to stand with friends and watching the sky literally fall, then bam cutscene
No, there was actually an end of era event for 2 hours before the final save/first shutdown (or maybe it was the last shutdown after the save I don't remember exactly), where players met the Garlean forces in battle at Carteneau and combat orders were being issued by the grand companies to the players.

I was also freaking out a little when I first heard it in the background. At first I thought, "omg they're gonna blow-up the servers again" and then I thought they were playing the song before a possible shut down due to hackers trying to hack into the PSN network.
