Why don't they change the way we earn Atma? (An honest question, not a rant.)

If they change atma now, what about all the people that struggled to get it? Dont you think they would cry out then?
I only have 3 but I hope they don't change it, so when I do get them all I have the same sense of accomplishment they had.

I never had a sense of accomplishment, I was just glad it was over.
