It's also almost four years since the original release of the game. It's somewhat hard to fathom that some of us have been playing this for that long.

Exactly. I’ve been with Final Fantasy 14 since the 2nd Alpha phase and i’ve never stopped. Well… Except for the time where my computer died on me and took 1 ½ month to get the parts i wanted for a new one. Hahaha.

It feels weird that it has “only” been 1 year since ARR has been released. I’ve done a lot of things in the game and i’m still thoroughly enjoying myself (read: totally addicted to the game). Also , a lot had changed in the game since it’s release in 2013. While a lot of people will not agree with me, during the course of the past year, the FFXIV team has laid a solid foundation for them to work with. Some of these foundations were embraced by many, but there were other foundations that were frowned upon by others.

It was the year where the Reborn Realm of Eorzea Awoke from the devastation of the Calamity, in which we would be guided Through the Maelstrom towards our current goal. Defending our Eorzea from the dangers we have yet to unveil.

While there is still a lot of room for improvement, the FFXIV team has done one heck of a job, turning 1.0 into the game we are playing right now. I take my Chapeau off and take a deep bow in thanks for bringing us a game enjoyed by many.

I think i can safely say that all of us here are looking forwards to what the FFXIV team has in store for us with the next 3 patches (2.38, 2.4 and 2.5) as well as the upcoming expansion.
