    (Hmmm...)
Not really to be honest. I thought I read something related to the language concerning Die Hard 3 but Wikipedia says it's just something with the names. (Some terrorist's name was changed to Jack in Part 1 but in Part 3 it's Hans [again]).
I mostly watch series in English and those which I watched so far didn't have german characters in it.

The only time I do this is when reading/watching manga/anime and sometimes it makes me cringe... a bit xD
There is a song from the anime Kill La Kill, which I actually haven't watched yet, named Blumenkranz which is completely sung(?) in German but without having the lyrics at hand I couldn't understand a thing (the tune is quite catchy though)

When talking about speaking different languages: I always wondered if I have an accent :S All I know is, that sometimes I am very bad at words with "th" in it. But it's a bit of a trolling move by my tongue 'cause it's really random ._.

I hope my text makes sense. Really tired right now and felling a bit awful, because I'll get my final exam's results today

    These two?
Sadly they don't mention Thal D:

Roegadyn: I'll buy you the finest sunsilk(?) haute couture clothing!
Hyur: So you can take them off of me again? No, no, sweetie.

(Maybe my translation is a bit off, but I don't know how exactly to describe the "kleiden" and "entkleiden". "Kleiden" means to put them on/wear them and "entkleiden" taking it off.)
Hmmm... Reading this really makes me wonder how the localization teams work...
I personally have the in game voices set to Japanese and written texts in English but I have enough understanding of the Japanese language to see that some of the things they say in English are completely different from the Japanese texts.

And then there's examples like these...

And yes, I am one of those people that listens very carefully when people speak different languages in movies, not only if the language is correct but also the accent, pronunciation and the context.

As I've done a fair amount of watching subtitled anime, I've noticed the depending on who is doing the translating and the context of the spoken Japanese can change how the translator word it in the translated language. It's one of those things you can pick up and notice quite quickly if you're not totally ignoring when physically spoken to read the subtitles. Sometime it's just a language barrier, where trying to translate a word of phase has not true or comparable translation to the sub language. Lost in translation is sadly a reality and infuriates me enough that I really want to learn Japanese to get the deeper meaning of the original context. Plus having the hobbies of watching Japanese animation and video games that generally have been developed in Japan, having Japanese comprehension will make enjoying my hobbies so much more. (And maybe a better job cause begin able to speak a second language is valuable to some businesses)

They localize, not necessarily translate. They can write whatever they want as long as it makes sense in that context...

Some things are impossible to translate so they make up their own thing. But why not do that for everything? (That's what I think, it's probably cheaper to do that)

I got German Text and Japanese Voice. Did this because I was disappointed by Merlwyb's German voice. She speaks so slow, stretched and rolls the R a lot, which I think doesn't really fit her (plus it isn't lip-synched at all).

If I remember correctly, then the German version of X is a good example. The German subtitles are sooo different from the voice acting it's really hilarious xD" I heard that the German subtitles more follow the Japanese dialogues/version and this is why it's a bit off.

Nevertheless, I wished "Hast du jemals von Thal Icebound gehört?!" was in the German version Maybe I'll make a thread for it.

It doesn't really matter for NPC's that don't have much to do with the world as a whole, but I have seen plenty of things within the main story quests that, well, do kind of tick me off.
Plenty of those were dialogues perfectly translatable without losing their context or comedic value but were still changed to something else completely.

I know from experience how hard some things can be to translate, but sometimes it looks like they aren't even trying to remain close to the original context.

If I must give a concrete example it will be in the Preatorium Gaius battle where the Japanese voice actor taunts you and the English dialogue sais "Aaaaaaaaaaargh!".
I mean, did they even try?

I went to Japanese because I just couldn't stand the "trying to be Brittish" accent of some of the VA's anymore, it was just too horrid to hear.
It's like listening to someone from the southeast of my own country trying to mimic my own Amsterdam accent.

As for that NPC dialogue, I think the German version actually might be a lot closer to the original Japanese text.
I'd like to see what the JP client shows. (And hope it's in Kana, I can read that.)

As for the Lipsync, none of the languages are, truth be told, they just make the lips move whenever the NPCs speak making the game look like you're watching an old English dubbed Kung-Fu movie.

First one broke the news of PvP skills being available in 2.28, 2nd one didn't provide any new info as far as I know, so maybe the 3rd one will contain a sliver of Novus info.
