I'd like to see four man dungeons not drop crafting materials like voidsent blood and waters, please make it armor only. Such a let down to do a full run and see crafting materials.

I expect a decently structured token system like every other modern MMO.What do you guys expect to happen? Do you think the game should keep a tally of all your personal runs and then tailor design a drop just for you? What about the 7 other people in your party? Is it supposed to keep track of their runs and tailor it for them instead? Is it supposed to compare the lists and drop something that isn't seen often? What if player Monk A see's nothing but tank look, but Player Paladin B see's nothing but monk loot. Would neither drop because two players see too much of it?
Seriously guys. The game will not keep a history of your drops to tailor make you a drop you want.
This. If tokens are what you like then you can certainly focus on soldiery and allied seals for your gear all the way to 110. Oh how terrible they are for having one set that doesn't work that way.

So why stop a good thing? Why not just, as another user pointed out earlier in this thread (and countless games have also done) have a token that can be used for magic users, another that can be used for physical dps, and a third that can be used for tanks. I know this thread is about ST, which isn't SO bad because you can spam it weekly without a lockout, but once you go 8+ weeks waiting on a pair of pants to drop from coil, its kind of bulls**t.
And be honest when pointing out their "token" system. Half of the currencies you listed aren't even used to buy gear. Furthermore, how would you even have a drop system for PVP? c'mon now...

Fooled me.... could've sworn I've bought gear at one point with (or currently can) :
Philo tomestones
Myth tomestomes
Soldiery tomestomes
Grand Company Seals
Allied Seals
Wolfmarks
Edit : The Coil lockout is what "helps" keep raiders logging back in to the game, even if it is for only one night a week. I've yet to see the dragoon pants from T8 nor has my group has any luck at getting high allagan dps weapons.

Uh..
Philo Tomestones - now Defunct(1)
Mythology Tomestones (2)
Allied Seals (3)
Wolf Marks (4)
Grand Company Seals (5)
Soldiery Tomestones (6)
Beastmen Currency.
6/7 currencies I listed are used to buy gear (and other items) so yes...they are indeed used to buy gear. It's just the fact some are useful as you level and progress as well, not purely for end game (like say Sol tomes.)

Philo Tomestones, as you just pointed out, are now defunct; Allied Seals are redundant when it comes to usable gear, and vanity gear is heavily over-priced; PVP gear is only useful in PVP (obviously); Grand Company gear is only useful for leveling; And Beastmen Currency can't be gotten anymore.
If we're talking exclusively about using alternate currency to buy gear, then yes, only one of those types of currency isn't used to buy gear. However, if we're talking about using currency to buy RELEVANT gear, then only 2 of those currencies counts, 3 if you care about PVP (some people don't, some people do).

It would make more sense anyway to have dungeons drop components (tokens) that can be taken to an outside vendor that forges it into armor. It doesn't have to be currency tokens, it can be more like having generic tank, healer, melee or caster DPS pieces that drop from bosses. Take melee gloves component to vendor and trade for MNK or DRG gloves. That sort of thing. You still get some randomness to the results, but it clamps down on the total variety of loot available so less loot is wasted because nobody needs it.
It would be especially helpful for weapon drops. Those can be extremely unforgiving since there are 9 (soon to be 10) available drop types.
But on a separate note they should really get rid of belts from ST. Put them somewhere else. They're such minor stat pieces that they rot the vast majority of the time.
