Hey guys. I need help from you experts getting from Mesa Red(which is actually in the brown spectrum), to Wine Red.

No one seems to want this color and none of the linked websites have info on either color

Plz halp. Grats on all the beautiful/badass chocobos btw.

Seventh Color: Shadow Blue
63 55 71

Feed:[3 Pineapple(2 feathers) , 3 apple, 3 pear, 3 berry]
Results:
Eighth Color: Marsh Green
55 63 39

Goal: Soot Black
47 47 39

So I need help to get Soot Black from Marsh green, any advice? I got the Blue properly, now I need to eat something to reduce the red and the green, while keeping blue exactly the same.


I guess I'll follow this advice and see what I get.

So from Marsh Green I got drunk and feed my choco 2berries each proced then 1 apple and it also proced to give me Ink Blue. I was then convinced by a friend to try and do Kobold Brown via 1 pineapple then try and get soot... I fed my Bucephalus who was Ink Blue 1 pineapple and it proced on the first feed and he became soot black. Thank you RNG? confused but happy since now my Bucephalus is the same color as Alexander the Greats horse Bucephalus!

Once I get to Blood red, how do I make sure I go in dalamund red and not regal purple?

As the poster above me, you only need 1 Berry proc message (Feather message).

I'm at Shadow Blue now, I seem to be jumping around the color sheet but all of my color changes have resulted in really dark shades so I'd imagine I'm still not too far off. Still going for soot black could someone please give me some advice on where to go from here? Would greatly appreciate it.

Can someone help with getting to Soot Black from Loam Brown? I think I'm finally close.

You need to get the 'choco is growing new feathers' message. If you're not seeing this, give him Valfruits until you do or you will see no change.

The problem is that I actually do get the message and I do get the prompt when I try to fetch my chocobo.
But after 6 hours, there is no cutscene of change.

Finally landed at Slate Grey, I feel like I'm so close! Now it's just a question of what do I feed him next to try for black, 10 of each lightening fruit? Please help, I don't want to mess this up and end up 5 steps backwards =X

Woooo! Just got soot black last night!



Here was my process for anyone trying to shoot for it or any of the other colors I managed to stumble over:
Original -> 7 Darken Green, 8 Darken Red, 9 Darken Blue = ...Halatali Yellow
Halatali Yellow -> 7(ish) Darken Blue = Royal Blue
Royal Blue -> 3 Darken Red, 2 Darken Green = Woad Blue
Woad Blue -> 2 Darken Red, 2 Darken Green = Shadow Blue
Shadow Blue -> 2 Darken Red, 2 Darken Green = Loam Brown
Loam Brown -> 1 Darken Blue, 1 Darken Green = Soot Black

So from Othard Blue I fed 6 Apples to get the next feathers are growing message and the final result was Royal Blue. Guessing I got a high quality proc since the expected result was Storm Blue.

Starting Colour: Mesa Red
118R 51G 4B

Desired Colour: Wine Red
62R 17G 14B

I would try the following "Darkener" combo:

x5 Pear
x9 Beries
x3 Apple

This combo should result in an RGB of around 63R 16G 9B (assuming +/-5 average integer and using the original RGB spreadsheet) and should push you into Wine Red range. Remember your mileage may vary. For Science!
