Personally, I don't think they messed up the hunt at all. Most hunt groups would ask someone who found a B rank to "Wait until we get done with all these A's. No, we can't invite you to our party, but you're a douche bag if you kill the B mark." I think the improvement would be to move the B's into the daily and make the weekly a hunt where you sit and wait for a fate to pop. Why should I get more for something that spawns every 5 seconds than for something I could wait for an hour or more to pop? Just seems kind of backwards.

As far as hunting goes, when you hunt, you hunt. You're in a party, you follow your group, you hunt the target, you move to the next. I am on Siren, and I have yet to worry about meeting my caps. There are many times by the end of the weekend where the only thing I can earn are allied seals. I'm maxed out on Tomes of Soldiery and I'm constantly buying junk with Myth Tomes so I don't feel like I'm completely wasting my time.

So I guess the question anyone here could pose is, how are people getting all level 110 gear in a week or two through hunts? They can't. Yes, they can get drops in extreme trials, but through hunts? Let's do the simple math. A piece of level 100 gear is between 375 and 825 Tomes of Soldiery (TOS). You have a weekly cap of 450. This means that you can buy one small item (ring, choker, circlet) per week or save for two weeks for one larger item (chest, pants). It takes 750 allied seals to upgrade one of the larger items, which at an A rank each (20 TOS) is 37.5 hunts. This is 15 hunts where you don't earn any more TOS via hunts. That's not to include any TOS one earns via trials, etc.

Your thinking of it from the perspective of a character that does not already have i100 items purchased (like me). These players, got i100 on everything the usual way, buying with Solidarity, 1 piece a week but have been stuck at i100 trying to Sands and Oils from Coil. Now hunts allow them get these items really, really fast.

You're still not able to buy more than one item a week unless you save for multiple weeks. Myth Tomes = iLVL 90 gear, Allied Seals (direct) = iLVL 90 gear. The math remains the same. 825 TOS = 2 weeks of spamming hunts, trials, etc, because of the cap of 450/week. At the end of a week, I can buy 2 items at 375 or 425, but I can't become iLVL 110 down both sides. I need head, chest, waist, pants, and feet on the left (5 items) and choker, earrings, wristlet, left ring, right ring on the other side (5 items) for a total of 10 items. While the less expensive items can be obtained in a single week of spamming hunts, it's still just under 2 weeks work for the larger items. The 4000 seal cap seems high, but when it takes 750 to increase a larger item (e.g. chest) that leaves only 2500 for the remaining items. To get enough A level hunts to fill 4000 seals, you need 200 hunts (20 x 200). Which is why the whining and bickering goes on when someone misses one. That's a lot of hunting, even for those who do it a lot. I'm not saying it takes skill, but it's certainly a grind.

I'm not really sure why you would say that the new way is different other than it's quicker and easier to meet your cap. I use to have to spam duty roulette for myth tomes, now they are more easy to obtain than seals (I'm not a crafter).

My problem is this: if they want people to go into Syrcus or Labyrinth, they did it all wrong. Why go through the 1/2 hour to 45 minute grind for a few TOS when one can just spam hunts? Better yet, why run dungeons or trials at all? In a few short weeks, I can be iLVL 110 if I do hunts regularly.

There's one thing you can't buy, regardless of the number of TOS or TOM... Weapons. Those drops are only in the trials at level 100 or higher. Hunts don't drop weapons. Now, they're still stuck having to get through the same thing as us: Extreme trials, atma/animus/novus, Coil, ST. We all have the same opportunity to either do or not do hunts. We can all take advantage of it or complain. No one needs to stay behind. I max out every week, and I'm pretty casual. I drop into a hunt party 2 or 3 times a week, pop until I'm out of TOS opportunities or I don't need any more sands or oils. Then I'm off to do things like the hunts don't exist.

And people take advantage of a lot of things. Let's spirit bond crafting gear by killing Shahigans in the breeding grounds or drop into Syrcus Tower and tank wearing an apron. Come on. Join our free company and we'll power level you through crafting and gathering by giving you all the HQ turn-ins for Leves and the Grand Company. Where there's a way to cheat the system, people will take advantage of it.

[edit] I apologize if I misunderstood. I thought you were saying you could buy all your 110 gear with something from the hunts other than TOS and sands/oils.
